  • Jamie. Is that more selective than ignoring the fact that they played florida aeronautical college?

Never had a little brother, apparently...they do this all the time.

      • The funny part is, no one is really trying to poop on MSU. They had a really good year and are a very good team. Who ever thought that suggesting the #12 and #13 teams (in all 3 polls!) in the country were pretty similar in strength would cause such a brew-ha-ha???

No they are pretty much equal points (except maybe some people consider losing to bad teams a bigger negative).

That leaves you with your head to head loss vs MSU's early road loss @ ND.

          Advantage MSU.

MSU is clearly a little bit better this season.

            Who could disagree?

If we want to focus on peons that both teams would be lets do that.

Which team lost to the worst team of their losses? Why that was UofM to Iowa.

              • Which team got blown off the field twice? Why that was MSU to Nebraska and Notre Dame.

Some peoiple consider getting blown-out a negative aspect of team strength, but I can see why that is escaping the MSU fans, since all MSU losses are just one-off "upsets" that don't really have anything to do with the strength of the team.

                • Yes ND scored 3 more points on MSU than MSU did on UofM. Are you sure you want to call that a blowout?

What does that have to do with anything? Last time I checked, the number of points MSU scored on Michigan has exactly zero to do with ND's 18-point margin of victory over MSU.

Of course, I'm not factoring in the last 4 years of games like MassSpartan, so maybe that somehow comes into play here.

                    • So by your definition 18 points is a blow out while 14 points is not?

                      • MSU was ahead of Michigan 21-14 with less than 5 minutes to go in the game. No, that is not a blowout by ANYONE's definiton, except of course the most fair and objective MSU fans.

Notre Dame was up 18 on MSU for most of the 2nd half of their game. MSU never got closer than 15 from early in the 3rd. When you aren't within 2 scores for the last 24 minutes of a game, that is a blowout, or at minimum a game that was not really ever in any doubt.

                        • So did MSU blowout Iowa then?

                          • Up 31-7 at half-time? Yah I'd call that a blow out. Just like Michigan blew-out Nebraska.

If Iowa had gotten any closer than 13 it's probably a different story. Any game where 1 play late in the 4th quarter could cause a lead-change or tie can't be classified as a blowout.

                            • It's funny to see the spartie boys grasping at straws.

These stories about how spartie was FAAAR superior for the length of the season and that spartie is MICHIGAN'S true #1 rival in football are getting spewed out here, I look forward to hearing how the 2012 recruiting battles are close between the two schools.

Sorry, gents- The little run is coming to an end. The Maize & Blue Good will triumph over the evil goon squad from moo U on 10/20/12. Stick your heads in the sand or face the ugly green & gold (or white) truth that is on your doorstep.

                              GO BLUE!!!

                              • Except, I still have yet to see where the "sparty boys" are claiming MSU was "FAAAR superior." They're saying they were slightly better this year, which is borne out in the final standings and head to head matchup.

I really don't see how this is even a debate. It's true.
