Michigan didn't really complain then got screwed then and they aren't very vocal about it now when the South has changed its story. The silence about it is very telling. If there is no public complaining, I can only surmise Michigan is interested in keeping the status quo by not disturbing the Southerners party.

Under the old system you don't get to one of the 4 main bowls with that season. Under that system, there was only two at large bids. The BCS is very good for Michigan, Michigan is very interested in keeping the status quo.
Like I said, I really don't care much about the name of the bowl we go to if it isn't the Rose or the BcS title game. It could be any New Year's Day(ish) game.

Because I'd rather be Lloyd Carr than the loser SEC coaches whining like 5 year old girls. All BCS championships are tainted as far as I'm concerned.
Still, let’s be clear and candid. If Oklahoma State were named “Ohio State,” “Michigan,” “USC,” “Florida” or “Oklahoma” it would be making travel plans for New Orleans
The only logical explanation is:
I'm about to die and this is my Jacob's Ladder

I was confused, I thought you were mentioning the Sugar Bowl and not the BCS championship. You are right on those teams, Michigan included, as part of the old boys club they would have given preferential treatment.
