  • I'm sold on Trey Burke. Wow, this kid is really good. Memphis is one of the most athletic teams in the entire country, and he just shredded them.

    • Michigan slaps around #8 Memphis, 73-61. It wasn't really as close as the score.

Looking forward to the Duke rematch tomorrow.

        • Heck of a game! I had to watch it on my phone but whatever works, I guess. Last I checked, doook was losing.

          • I may have spoken too soon about Duke. They are having some trouble with Tennessee.

Duke doesn't have the athletes to play the usual coach K pressure D, and they don't have a true PG like they usually do. The result is they are having trouble on the perimeter, on both ends of the floor.

That said, they have a lot of size and a lot of shooters, so they are still a threat to beat just about anyone.

            • Duke is putting this one away late. It'll be Michigan-Duke tomorrow at 2.

I think we can beat them, but who knows what will happen.

                    Beat Duke!

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

                    • Not a good first half...Tim Hardaway jr. with the worst half of his short career thusfar.

Still a half to go. 12 is doable.

                        • Douche wins by an 82-75 final. 53 second half points for us but Douche was just lights out from 3. They also shot 18 more FT's than us but part of that has to do with us fouling in the last 2 minutes. It would've been more like a 9 FT advantage.

What is impressive is that Michigan beat Douche on the boards. That isn't what last year's team did.

This looks a lot more like a 20+ win team than it did a week ago so those that hit the panic button can relax a bit.

They'd better beat either UCLA or Kansas tomorrow to keep the good flow going. I'm sure they'll be tired but I think they can do it.

Burke finished with 17 points, 9 assists and only 3 turnovers (1 in the 2nd half). His shooting failed him a bit at the end but I'm VERY encouraged.

I'm not saying he's a better player than Darius Morris just yet but I think he will be. He's much better than DM as a Frosh, that's for sure.

He already is finding Morgan in scoring spots and can drive by most anyone. I think he'll also start getting some foul calls when he takes it to the rim and draws contact. I think he should've gone to the line for 3-5 FT's instead of none.

Tim Hardaway Jr. made whatever adjustments he needed to and got lose in the 2nd half. He's getting to the rim more. He's becoming a complete player. I just hope he sticks around for his Jr. year so we can make a Final Four run.

19 points, (6 for 8 shooting in the 2nd half) 3 boards and a block. I'm not surprised he didn't have any assists. He hardly touched the ball in the first half and we needed his scoring in the 2nd half.

We needed more out of Smot but he got off to an awful start. He did wind up with 5 points, 5 rebounds, a steal and a block but also went 1 for 3 from the line and had 2 TO's and 5 fouls.

What is encouraging is his improvement on the glass. His added weight seems to have helped him bang and get up for boards, although his next dunk will be his first.

Novak took 3 charges and had his moments, as did Stu in the first half.

Vogrich has not picked up where he left off last year but I'm hopeful he'll come around.

Colton Christian looks like he could be a spot contributor. That's better than I thought. I figured he'd get lost in the numbers game but his D seems to have a place, even if it's only for 5 minutes a game.

Horford just didn't have much of a game today. We could've used the kind of production he had against Memphis.

The box score I am looking at says that Josh Bartlestein played and hit a 3. I don't recall that at all but maybe he hit one at the end? If so, good for him.

Next year is all I care about. We could win the whole damn thing if everyone sticks around for 2013.

You got a potentially fantastic year in the making THIS year. There is no BCS BS in NCAA hoops. It's all about where your team is come tourney time.

                              • It depends what you mean by "fantastic."

We have another potential 20-win season and 1-2 NCAA tournament wins. We're past the point where that's "special."

I want a big 10 title and a run at the final 4. We need one more elite player for that. We our best recruiting class in the last 10 years coming this fall. If Hardaway is still on the team, we could be really dangerous.
