Lloyd Carr is not a noble man, he's not the grumpy old grandfather with a heart of gold, no matter how much the media wants to paint him as such. He's a selfish, condescending, arrogant prick. Apparently in a new book former UM basketball great, Glen Rice, admits to having sex with Sarah Palin when UM played in an Alaskan Baketball tournament in 1987.

Man, this really changes things. It's funny how one story can totally change your opinion of a person. Glen Rice is freakin' awesome!

The media, and society, love to create images of people, and not deviate in the slightest from that image no matter what evidence emerges after the fact. It takes a hell of a lot to force that change on the collective consciousness.

Look at Jay Cutler, even now after repeated stories that say, "Yeah, he was hurt really bad" from doctors and teammates and the coaches, people still want to believe he was just being a pussy and didn't want to play hard in the NFC Championship Game.

I honestly doubt this one story about Rice will change the perception of him very much except by people who were looking for a reason to dislike him.

Why would sleeping with Palin (if that is real) reflect badly on Rice? In 1987, Palin was 23 years old. Wasn't she a pageant queen or something? I doubt Glen was overly concerned with her political views or her intellectual conversation.

I am actually a graduate of EMU and am hopeful and even confident he'll do so. That has been a very rare occurence indeed. I tell people that when I was there, Mike Stock was coach and Alex Agase was AD; Stock had a four year contract and went 3-8, 2-9, 1-10 and 0-11. Agase rewarded him with a one year extension. He lost his next seven or so before they finally canned him.
