Morris testing waters, declares for draft, no agent yet (he can backout still).
I'm really surprised. I guess his assists numbers are pretty elite. Maybe with the lack of true PG's he's getting some more interest.
If he stays in and lasts to the pistons 2nd rounder he would be a nice pick up.

I think it makes more sense for him long-term to come back for one more year. There are too many uncertainties about his game and about the NBA's immediate future to take the leap this spring.
Obviously, I think his Michigan team will be a lot better with him returning but I don't think we will be totally screwed if he stays in the draft. From what I see of Trey Burke, he could be a solid starter as a Frosh and I think Brundidge and Stu would do okay backing up the point.
I think we'd still most likely make the tourney without Darius but I think we've got a good shot at making the Sweet 16 or better with him.
Either way, I wish him well.

You and me both DanO.
I wish I could share your optimism about us making the tourny without him TMD but I dont. I dont even know why he's even considering it. He'll be a 2nd rounder this year. Stupid move IMO. Next year he'd be a lock in the 1st round.F#*K OHIO!!!

Look at the plus side--he has nothing to lose. As long as he doesn't hire an agent he can back out by May 5. He's gone to the independent body that assesses draft prospects, on B-line's recommendation; he hasn't cut any ties. If he comes back, we may have a championship season; if he doesn't, he may be a killer pro and we can all be proud of him. I didn't realize he was fifth in the nation in assists; considering UM was about 200th in scoring, that's pretty impressive.I made baseball as fun as doing your taxes!

Considering how thin the PG position is in this draft, I'm not surprised he's dipping a toe in and testing the waters. If it looks like he's gonna go in the first round (which again considering the depth of talent at the position he plays), I'd be hard pressed to tell him he shouldn't make the jump.

Hardaway is going to be a star. I think Morgan will get a little better, Smotrycz will improve even more and I expect more of Horford. The Big Ten will be a little weaker.
All of this to me adds up to another 20 win season (provided everyone else is healthy, eligible, etc.) but we could probably get to 25 with Morris.
