  • Saban took over a pile of shit after David Shula left. Let's not forget the Alabama lost to Louisianna Lafayette in Saban's first year. The reason that Alabama has more talent than Michigan is that Saban recruits it. It wasn't there when he got there. Alabama almost hired RichRod the year they hired Saban. RichRod would have been as big, if not bigger a disaster in Alabama as he was in Michigan.

          • Where grades aren't an issue...

Quarterback Tate Forcier is transferring from the University of Michigan to the University of Miami.
"Miami had the best opportunity," Forcier told ESPN. "There is so much positive energy around this program and I really want to be apart of it. I love these coaches an feel like they are the right guys for me. I had a great visit and I really want to be a part of the rebirth at Miami."
Before choosing the Hurricanes, Forcier had narrowed his options to Kansas State, Washington, Arizona, Miami and Montana.
Forcier backed up Denard Robinson last season after starting ahead of him when they were both freshmen during the 2009 season. Forcier threw for 2,647 yards with 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 20 career games.
The 6-foot-1, 192-pound Forcier, a native of San Diego, Calif., was ruled academically ineligible to play in the Jan. 1 Gator Bowl.
Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon said Forcier was no longer with the program as he introduced coach Brady Hoke as Rich Rodriguez's successor.
Forcier was a prep star in San Diego who wound up starting for Michigan in his college debut.
Injuries stunted his success and the Wolverines lost seven of their next eight games. Robinson moved past Forcier on the depth chart last spring and started the 2010 opener, accounting for 383 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Connecticut.

              • Jordan Morgan is turning into a heck of a find for Belien. He's playing extremely well in the paint as only a freshman. 27 points tonight on 11/13 shooting. He leads the big Ten in %FG.

We've still got an outside shot at the NCAA tournament, so long as we win the games we should win (Indiana, Minnesota, @ Iowa, MSU) and win maybe one more game (Wisconsin, @ Illinois) we shouldn't.

                • Another stupid Scottish question coming up from still learning dude......., what does the thread title mean,....., obviously Univ of Mich, but what's the 0 > 1181 part?
"...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

                  • MSU fans liked to crow that it had been 1,181 days since Michigan beat Michigan State in either basketball or football.

The 0 part refers to this year Michigan beating Michigan State in basketball last month, breaking that streak.

I don't think they have the juice to make it. I don't think they have the big wins.

                        • There are enough games to decide their fate left though. I like the way the newer young guys are playing and improving.

They need some inside muscle for sure but still most of their players can shoot with confidence and know how to play basketball.

It's kind of a circular argument; to get the record to make the NCAA, they will need big wins. They have several ranked Big Ten schools in the rest of the schedule and will need to win a couple of those, including the conference tournament.

                            • I think they really only need one big win (@ Illinois, @ Minnesota, vs. Wisconsin), plus the Indiana, Iowa and MSU games that are must-wins. That would get them to 9-9 in conference and 19-12 overall. They'd be set up pretty well to wind up with at least 20 wins by selection sunday.

A .500 Big ten conference record should be enough to get them in.

Keep in mind, there are three extra at-large spots now in the big dance.
