Remember, the devil is in the details. You can offer someone like Miles or Harbaugh some amount over what they are making, but what are you offering to pay his assistants. Miles two coordinators made 2 million combined last year. I've heard that Harbaugh was offered 5.25 million, but that included the coordinators.

Hoke took the job for less money - apparently without even asking what it paid. You can see that as a positive or a negative. I like it. I think the guy really, really, wants to be the Michigan coach and has something to prove. I'm not sure the same could be said of Harbaugh or Miles.I'll let you ban hate speech when you let me define hate speech.

The last time I endorsed a Professor Harold Hill type, whose method of winning centered on the "Think" system, it was Rod Marinelli. I will defer from predicting Hoke's success or failure for now, but I'll say it was an unorthodox hire.I made baseball as fun as doing your taxes!

Auburn accepts Kris Frost's commitment.
We are going to end up with 10 recruits. Frost was a guy who was a lock before this RR/Hoke stuff went down, and now he's off to the SEC.
But Hoke loves the school, and, as we all know, that makes you a good coaching choice. Heck, I love michigan too, maybe I should get the job 3 years from now when denard leaves and this class rears it's ugly head. I'll even say things like, "defense comes first" so you'll all know I'm an excellent, defensive minded guy.
Sound like a plan?

---------------------Don't forget to mention how much the rivalry in the state just south of Michigan is the biggest thing EVER and how you would rather have your eyes cut out then lose to them. That will ensure your hire. As long as you go rah, rah michigan and boo, boo OSU you are the man for the job.
GO LIONS "11" !GO LIONS "24" !!

The thing that you gotta like though is how many UM football alums are supporting this move. And I could be wrong, but it really seems like genuine support and not "I went to school there so what the hell" support.
When Tom Brady and Charles Woodson both say they love the move, one has to think that there might be something to this guy. Those two know a thing or two about winning. And it's not just them. There has been talk (according to the Detroit media) that a pretty large contingent of past UM football alums have actually been calling for Hoke to get a shot for years now.AAL: KhaDarel Hodges

3-4 Defense for Michigan?
Report: Greg Mattison talks with Brady Hoke about U-M coordinator post
Michigan coach Brady Hoke has talked to Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Greg Mattison for the Wolverines' open coordinator position, the Baltimore Sun reported Tuesday.
Hoke and Mattison are good friends and coached together on Jack Harbaugh's staff at Western Michigan, and both worked under Lloyd Carr at Michigan.
