So, in 8 years at BSU and SDSU, brady Hoke and his alledgedly tough run defense's best year (this year) put them at 57th nationally, with the next best being 84th. He managed to crack the top 60 twice in the pass efficiency department. Color me unconvinced that he is going to do more for our defense than a new DC would have (Hell, his numbers aren't really a lot better than greg robinson's were), and without even blowing up the entire recruiting class and offense, too.
There is just nothing in his resume other than "worked at michigan" that warrants consideration for this job.

The Lloyd -Hoke lovefest - guess who? - not hard really. lol
MICHAEL ROSENBERG - I love Lloyd Carr and please give Hoke a lot of time - Brady Hoke is not a bad hire for Michigan. Record alone not enough to go on

I'm starting to think of Hoke as being like a professional wrestler; he's always in character. The comments by the former SDSU player, that he was as fanatical about San Diego as he now appears to be about Michigan, suggest he can turn it on like a faucet.I made baseball as fun as doing your taxes!

----------------------YEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I see it as the only reason he was hired. FUCK that pisses me off. Fucking political BS. UM will be average at best for at least three years and probably more because Hoke doesn't have the animosity behind his hire that RR did and he's much more media friendly. Hey, that's another good reason he was hired....he talks a great game and "knows" what rivalry games mean--------------give me a break.
GO LIONS "11" !GO LIONS "24" !!

Rosenberg's article isn't technically wrong in any sense, because you do never know. And some national guys wrote similar articles about how Hoke could be the right hire, despite the record. But Rosenberg's history with the topic of course gives you some pause.

Oh, and I'm going to give you something that runs contrary to my "conspiracy theory":
Get the most current sports news, GIFs, photos and rumours from The Big Lead, always racking up the top sports news headlines.
I had been waffling between Coleman putting the nix on hiring Miles and Miles saying, "Fuck that noise, U-M is a mess right now and I want no part of it." Sounds like the latter was in fact correct.
Assuming this article is accurate (and with the way that reports about U-M have been flying about, fuck if I know if it is), it seems that I had Coleman's actions in this mess wrong at least.

Miles is at a school with a very solid program in a talent rich state, he coaches in the best conference in the country, he has a team that has a legitimate shot at a the national championship next year and he seems to be oblivious of the criticism that comes his way from his detractors
Michigan is a mess.
I don't think it was that dificult of a decision for Miles to stay at LSU and he parlayed the Michigan interest into three more years at 3.5 mil or so.
I guess he's not as dumb as his critics believe him to be.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

There's a story with a member of the LSU Board of Trustees claiming Michigan made two offers to Miles, he rejected them, and he actually took less money to stay at LSU. I would translate it this way: some boosters aren't fond of Miles for his occasional game mismanagement, they're really annoyed that he's getting a raise, so this trustee guy is pretending a) they had to outbid Michigan but b) they really didn't.I made baseball as fun as doing your taxes!
