Not saying Hoke is a bad hire, but I honestly feel sorry for you guys. A top flight coach with a "a get out of Jail and go to only Michigan" card. One with a NC under his watch. I don't know what is up with FO at UM, but I help but a feel a little bad for you. I understand not getting Harbough, but I don't understand how you didn't get Miles.

I see the drama queens are already out in full force... will I really have to put up with Chemiclord's conspiracy theories for the next few years? C'mon, Carr's influence took a significant hit with the Rodriguez hire, and within six months of Brandon coming on board Carr was out of his administrative position in Schembechler Hall. The new hire is Brandon's; I just don't see where Coleman has much to do with it.

I really had my heart set on Miles so this is a pretty big let down in that regard but I love the hire 1000 times more than the DickRod addition. I hated him from the get go. Just a stupid stupid hire.

I'm going to hold off judgement for now on Hoke. All the players that I've heard have said Hoke is a fantastic coach and I've heard he's a good recruiter. All the big coaches start somewhere so maybe Hoke will be the next. At least he has ties to the program. His incoming speech at his press conference will tell me who he is and whether I like him or not from day 1.

Winning will determine everything after that.

Hoke is a mediocre mac coach who will do nothing for the program that RR wouldn't have been able to with a new DC. This is an absolute failure on all levels and has caused me to forever lose whatever faith I still had in those in charge at michigan. If we couldn't get harbaugh or even miles, RR should have not been let go. I don't care how much everybody hates him, Hoke is not the savior, and is definitely not worth blowing up the team and the recruiting class over.

I doubt Carr had anything to do with it. It's possible Coleman limited Brandons budget though.

If Hoke realizes there are 3 phases to the game, then he's better than Rich Rod and worth blowing up his recruiting class and all the undersized defensive players lined up in it.

But this is a huge step down from Harbaugh or Miles. If, for some reason Ohio State were searching for a new HC, would Hoke even get a call?

We got to see what happens before final judgement. It's certainly a let down with Harbaugh and Miles not coming but the story isn't finished yet.

Yeah but look at what Tressel did with that Youngstown program tho. Its not a storied school but he had that team winning every year and they played like it was for the SB.

Not too mention OSU took their time and REALLY REALLY recruited for a HC. They didnt set up BS interviews they did their homework.
