Rumor I heard was that Coleman openly declared she would not support Les Miles as coach, and Brandon ended negotiations rather than start another battle with U-M administration.
It's looking like the only way this issue is going to be finally settled is for Brandon to hire Hoke, have him get destroyed for three or four years, and finally put a merciful end to the Lloyd Carr coaching tree.
Why is Coleman president of Michigan? She doesn't know anything about Football and is Making U of M look like cowards and is ruining everything!

Coleman damn near loves Lloyd Carr. She remains his tool of influence within the University of Michigan.
There's only one way out of this, Brandon. Hire Hoke, and let him fail miserably like he is going to do. Let him have his chance, let him completely blow it, then you can go to Coleman and Carr and say, "Alright, we've tried your shitty assistants. They sucked, just like we told you they would. Now we're going to do it my way, and you two brats are going to shut the fuck up and deal with it. You've already wasted a decade of Michigan football with your antics, and I'm not letting you waste another day more."

Well they first tried going outside the Carr assistant line. How did that work out? I think this is more Coleman saying - we tried it your way and it failed. Now we're doing it my way.
The original plan was to hire Miles three years ago.
Carr and Coleman nixed that plan in a hurry, hoping that it would force Martin to hire Ron English. Instead, Martin hired someone no one liked or wanted.
Flight tracker has Domino Dave headed to California. Hoke will be named soon. Sorry, J4. I know you're head is about to explode. Hoke has been given some good endorsements from former players, and he really, really wants the job. He might be the right guy. One thing I like is that he would return Michigan to SmashMouth football.

Hey, Gene Chizik looked like a shitastic hire for Auburn, and look how that turned out. You neve know. I'll hope for the best if it's Hoke, but I'm certainly steeled for some more shitty years.
Hoke has proven he can coach up shit talent, so I'd actually give him a better shot at winning next season. I just worry long-term that he won't get blue chip talent.
