Supposely the job was to be posted for a week. I'm wondering if it was posted by one of Brandon's minions, probably a flunky who followed him to U of M from Ann Arbor, and when the grownups discovered it they took it down.

Not sure..thought it was common practice to post a job that's not really open to the general public in a public place then pull it soon after, just so they can say it was an open search. Don't know if there's a minimum time limit that a listing like that has to be available.

...or maybe they took it down after it got some press, because they didn't want a whole bunch of joke resumes coming in.

Brandon strikes me as his own man. I don't think he'll be influenced by anyone's popular choice. My hunch is that he hires someone most people have never heard of before.

Tressel was 1-AA, not D2, but the point still stands. Considering a highly successful coach outside of the normal channels isn't a bad idea.

I do find it vaguely funny that someone who thinks RR is a dick doesn't think miles is. God i feel like an SEC team in that I sort of don't care because he's a good coach.... Maybe we can get saban while we're at it.

I'll still take him over hoke any day. Kind of more curious about patterson though.

Also, Dodger, what's your opinion on miles and his ncaa stuff, since I knew you were steadfastly against RR's less serious stuff. Just curious about people's opinions.

I'm neither here nor there with Miles. A definite upgrade to RR, but at 57 he pretty much is what he is and I'd prefer somebody a little more on the upswing. But I do think he'd bring the program back to a Lloyd Carr level pretty, maybe even fairly quickly. Then you get maybe a decade out of him.

5-1 in bowl games is pretty nice.

I don't care just get him in here so he can turn us around. He's a great fit if he'd even take the job right now. He's got a sweet gig in LSU

Miles would be a fool to leave LSU. He's got the easiest recruiting gig in the country. Lots of in-state talent and no real competition from the other state schools.
