Wondering if not wanting to have another three year re-build is factoring into the decision.....or maybenthey're feeling him out for an OC position.

Didn't realize Jimmy was that old......but I think he could handle it, guy's in good shape.

Kinda. GVSU has spread formations that they use, but they also have base pro style sets that they go to.

My guess is they're just throwing out feelers to successful lower division coaches to gauge interest in case all their other contingencies go completely to shit.

Nah, it's only a ballgame. Life is a continuum. Everything will be fine, but folks here can bleed out the eyes because we're not hiring a coach who's already won a title. They hired a guy who believes you have to have an angle to get ahead--as William Goldman said in Soldier in the Rain, a guy who's engaged in a running con game with the world and believes the shortest line between two points is a parabola. He's gone, and we'll get a guy who believes you win through being better than the other guy. Almost sounds like the Lions and the difference between Millen and Schwartz, doesn't it? But I think that's not only more important, but the key to success. Be better.

Got off the phone with a friend of mine at Grand Valley State;

Officials at the University of Michigan have given Lakers coach Chuck Martin a preliminary interview. I'm not sure what a "preliminary interview" entails precisely, but I'm tickled pink that the Lakers success (between Kelly and Martin) has got big schools taking notice.

Do you have a college degree? A graduate degree, by chance? A thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations? Some coaching experience?
Then you can apply to be the football coach at Michigan. The university, which parted ways with Rich Rodriguez on Wednesday after three seasons, posted the job opening on its website.
