  • RichRod is toast, amigo. I don't care if he runs the table. He sullied the Maize and Blue. He doesn't belong at a respectable institution.

    • No kidding, the Maize and Blue can sully their reputation just fine on their own!

      • Penn State quarterback Robert Bolden (apparent concussion) is a question mark for Saturday night's game against Michigan.

Matthew McGloin stepped in after Bolden left Saturday's game with Minnesota, but this was because backup Kevin Newsome didn't feel well. If Bolden can't go on Saturday then it's a toss-up between Newsome and McGloin to get the starting nod.

While you might not care if he runs the table, I'm sure 10-2 with a win over ohio state in columbus and a win in a semi decent bowl game would keep him here, why get rid of him at that point? Yeah we sucked the last 2 years, but we went through the largest program shift in decades, and now that we're finally starting to get where we want we start all over? Certainly Greg Robinson needs to be looked at, but at a certain point there's nothing he can do for awful, awful players. James Rogers' inability to change direction isn't on coaches, avery feeling like it's cool to play man during zone coverage is awful. Cam gordon is a terrible safety. JT floyd couldn't cover a slant if the reciever told him where he was going at the LoS. Mouton bites on cutbacks and PA worse than anyone I've seen in a while, and ezeh is just awful. (thankfully he at least seems to be a thing of the past barring injury to demens).

All I'm trying to say is that people are writing this year off too quickly because of 2 losses to solid teams. That said. If RR is fired at the end of the year, i will still support whoever they bring in. But at that point we're flirting with becoming a coach hopping, mess of a school, and that's the last thing I want. Next year is the year that will sway me one way or the other on RR for good. (excluding the possibility of terrible, terrible things happening before this year ends) We'll have woofolk and some other key guys back from injury, martin will be here, as will a few promising freshmen. Hopefully none of which take the Cissoko or Campbell routes.

God I wish the lions were playing, all I've gotten to talk about is Michigan.

If he runs the table (read beats OSU this season) he will not be toast. He will be PB&J with the crusts cut off.

I think there actually is a small chance RR can beat OSU. Pryor isn't very consistent and if he has an off day its possible.

                • I can't imagine the odds of them running the table, Rich Rodriguez has won 4 big ten games in his career, expecting a 5 game winning streak to end the regular season is a tall task.

                  • Yeah I would put the odds of them running the table at about 0.0000000000001%.

I'm still expecting a loss to OSU. The next three games will be very telling about the future of the program.

If they don't beat Ill., PSU, and Purdue, I think Rich Rod's butt will be very warm...

                        • I'll admit there's little chance of my hypothesis being tested. I don't know how many more games RichRod will win; earlier I said he'd go 4-4 in the Big T1e1n. I don't know if he can win that many. I don't think 8-4 and a mediocre bowl game will save him. In fact, I think they'd announce his departure before the bowl game. I think they made their minds up last year to get rid of him, but couldn't until the new AD was on board.

I agree with you, i was just saying that because there was talk of him getting fired after running the table(not to say I think we have no chance against OSU, because we do). Like I said, if he gets fired, he gets fired and we move on to the next guy, fine. But I'd imagine it would still have to be a spread guy, or we'd suck for another 3 years.

Although maybe not, we have some very promising guys on the OL. Lewan (a RS freshman, no less)shut clayborne down last week like he was nobody. Starting to look like...no, I'd better not say it.

                            • I doubt the preferred offensive scheme of the incoming coach will be a factor in the selection process.
