  • If the Big Ten actually made it so that U-M and OSU had to schedule a non-conference game against each other, the Big Ten doesn't deserve to survive.

It's not a non-conference game, dummy! It s a cross-over game protented by the conference. Each team will have I think 3 each year. 1 against am opponant that will not chenge and another 2 that will rotate between the rest of the teams in the other division. Not exact on how the final numbers will work out, but Mich-OSU are safe.

I was speaking hypothetically; in response to a statement made earlier by dodger; where U-M and MSU basketball schedule a non-conference game against each other.

Easy big fella! Chemi was responding to this and saying there wasn't any chance of that happening:

Can you imagine an end of the season Michigan-OSU game that doesn't count in the Big Ten standings?

          • No No, without the quote it was not clear how he was referring to it. Call him a dummy was a term of endearment. Having a total disagreement with chemi is usually more heated than using the words, dummy. The way you read it without the quote made it sound more like question of "if" than a "what if". No Offense intended Chemi.

                • Welp, they've made their announcement. The divisions were as revealed earlier; teams play the five teams in their own division and three in the other, but it's not a two year roundrobin. There is one "rivalry" game guaranteed every year, and OSU-Michigan is one of them. And tell me, Michigan State fans...how do you feel about your "guaranteed rivalry" game being...INDIANA? :-D

                  • The game is still set for the last week of the year. At least through 2012.

They were talking to Tom Osborne on the teevee and he was saying he was getting threatening letters about moving the game. I think it's safe for a bit.

                      • Yeah thats poop.

Hell MSU has more of a rivalry with Hawaii than it does Indiana (serious about that too).

                        • No more penn state game every year... that will be different... wasn't much of a rivalry and MSU usually didn't get the W but tradition is nice.

                          • It's the same weekend, but now it means nothing as far as Big Ten implications. They still fucked it up, for the hopes that they will get a rematch the following week once every few years. It's all about the money.

                              • I think they said basketball is yet to be determined. If they want, they could go with a 12 team single division.
