the next guy's gonna bring in a new system, and you'll go through the same thing. another losing season, and again, blue fans will be calling for his head...and then another losing season, and patiencewill be out.
True. But if the AD is smart, he will bring in a "Michigan man" or someone that will get a favorable reception from the animal. RR had a nasty divorce from WV, was not liked by the animal who portrayed him as arrogant, had a horrible first season, the investigation and now last place in the Big 10. (After reading all that I find myself not being real upset if they fire him). On top of that Michigan seems to still be at the start of rebuilding after 2 years of RR.
He may have had success at smaller programs and may not be able to handle such a large program. This is not Tulane or WV after all.
the defense is the reason they suck right now. It isnt the offense.
The spread isnt the reason they suck on D.
Exactly, people complaining about the O, this is not the problem this year. The O is coming along fine with a freshman at QB if you ask me. The problem is there is no sign of the worst M defense ever, improving? Michigan will never win till this D improves, no matter how good the O will be next year. RR better realize this today or this is what will be his downfall.
Robinson has been around coaching a long time, its madding how terrible they are. Im not going to call him DickRod yet, but he better find some magic on how to improve the D (2 best players will be gone) or next year will be his last.
At this point it don't matter, i'll bet Wisconsin can win without throwing a pass and OSU would definitely win easily having Pryor run every play of the game on Offense.

Scary to think they have 2 quality players on defense and they'll both be gone. I find it hard to believe that Carr left the cupboard this bare on that side of the ball.
Im having my doubts with RR - b/c Carr did not leave him a bad defense 2 years ago, just no Offense. Now RR seems to have things rolling on the O - I wonder if he can name one player on the other side of the ball?
You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.
So far the Rodriguez edition of Michigan looks like a John L Smith edition. Porous defense with a sometimes impressive offense. It will look really impressive to the point where you think they are world beaters, but the consistency isn't there, you'll get droughts in the same game in which you scored 24 points in 4 consecutive drives. And its an offense that so far hasn't looked to be all that reliable versus a top notch opponent.
The larger issue is something that Niffla pointed to, it seems like the whole program is centered around this guru's offense. Its easy to say that the offense isn't the problem and its the defense, but is the coaching staff giving sufficient attention to the defense? And will it?

Michigan was having troubles with their defense long before Rodriguez came along. Many a Wolverine man bemoaned their defensive talent and scheme for the last several years under Carr.

The other similarity I see between RR and Barney L. Fife is a lack of composure on the sideline. When you're winning a lot of games, people look past it and call it passion. When the program isn't going to bowl games you look like a buffoon and I think it reflects poorly on the program. I was always bothered by John L's inability to control himself on the sideline.

But he was comic gold in the post game press room.

Rashean Mathis: "I'm an egg guy. Last year we didn't have (the omelet station). I didn't complain, but I was dying inside."
Danny Hopes shenanigans after the game in the middle of The Big House field with RR was low class bunk and down right embarrassing to say the least. As pointed out on the Big Ten Network it was planned ahead of time, I never seen anything happen like that ever after a football game. RR was ambushed... I had to think - I would have like to see him try that with Bo, and yes even Lloyd.
