  • I will have to check it out.

BTW, I started to watch Watson after the game Sunday night. The promos looked like it might be an interesting mystery type show.

Fuck. What a bunch of insipid bullshit.

Ex wife that is the boss. Team member drama. Twins with one brother taking the other's girl but still working together, stupid fucking plot. Dramatic music the same as every other soap opera bullshit show, etc etc

I watched maybe half of it? Probably less before I couldn't take it anymore.

    Good Lord it was awful
I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

      • I only saw the last 5 minutes of Watson, I know nothing of the show but was enthused because the reveal of Moriarty happened on the Duquesne Incline. I had to send a screenshot of that scene to my daughter, she loves the Duquesne Incline.

I highly recommend this show. It's set in Vancouver and it's your basic buddy cop formula. I love Vancouver

my wife spotted the fact that the “twins” were played by one actor almost immediately.

You missed the Moriarty reveal…it was really bad

          • What I don't understand is the creator of Watson was also the creator of Elementary, which just finished up a few years back. Can't he mine some other existing public domain story.

            • Elementary was good - went into a bit of downslide at the end a bit, but to be expected that far into a show's run. Saw the commercials for Watson and was confused - so is it just the Watson character as an investigative doctor without Holmes? So, like, House but just slapping the Holmes name on it?

Watched 2 spy series recently - Black Doves and The Agency. Black Doves was great, pulpy and fun with oddball characters. The Agency is a slick real world CIA show with complicated overlapping plots. It's got a great cast and well executed, but I didn't like the main character much, with Michael Fassbender doing his usual emotionless brooding bit.

              • Yes Watson as House MD in Pittsburgh one year after the events at the Reichenbach Falls. Holmes leaves money for Watson so he starts up a clinic in Pitt solving unusual medical problems. The setup is both Holmes and Moriarty are considered dead, of course Moriarty is revealed as the dad from Fresh Off the Boat and he is working with the right hand man of Watson

And Moriarty had webbed fingers? Was that a show add on or from the books?

                  • Moriarty only appears in two Doyle books, I don't remember the webbed fingers. But it has been a long time since I read any of the originals. But there has been so many works done since Doyle that Moriarty grew in stature as the archenemy.
