Wife and I finally started watching Squid Game. We get Netflix for only a few months at a time. I'm enjoying it, but she's not a fan of the graphic deaths. She says she'll stick it out for now.
I enjoy games and puzzles. Just finished episode 5, so just over half-way.

Episode 6 is like “holy shit” if remembering correctly. It’s been 3 years since the release. Enjoyed the series and possibly looking forward to a re-watch in anticipation of ‘Squid Games’ season 2 this year.
Of which I’ll remind y’all due to bringing up Netflix. ‘Arcane’ on Netflix is the steaming platform’s best original series IMHO. Season 2 coming out in 2 months. French animation, but not a big deal because of how elite the storytelling and characters are. Among other amazing things. 10/10. It’s going to be a huge deal if season 2 is just as fantastic as season 1 (that’s always a question with every TV series).AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

The first episode of ‘Dexter: Original Sin’ (the new prequel) is decent. Showtime milking this Dexter product to the extreme and it appears that I’m here for it. Apparently they’re releasing another sequel season next summer that basically acts as season 10. I find that strange considering they botched the ending of ‘Dexter: New Blood’ (or can be called season 9). A sneakily solid TV season that did a fine job until the very end. I can’t believe that came out in 2021 and it’s been 3 years already! Hopefully they correct their mistake… again… by thinking of the right conclusion.
With season 2 of ‘Severance’ almost here, thinking about digging into more Apple TV+ content. Such as ‘Silo’ with Rebecca Ferguson. Let me know if there’s anything else that’s no -brainer great.
’Squid Game’ season 2 is on the way soon too!AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

I would recommend watching the original series that came out in 2006 first and see if you like it. It’s far superior. Seasons 1, 2, and 4 of ‘Dexter’ are incredible and top tier TV seasons IMO. Seasons 3, 5-7, and 9 (New Blood) decent. Just like ‘Game of Thrones’, a botched season 8 that put a bad taste in everyone’s mouths,
That’s like if anyone asked me if they should watch the original or prequel for Star Wars or Lord of the Rings on first viewing. Nope… the original is actually by far the best. No brainer answer.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

Started up two new series recently.
Finally started watching True Detective, going to watch the season 1 finale tomorrow. It's living up to the hype. Blows my mind that you can get McConaughey & Harrelson on a TV series together. IMDB says that the first season is the best, but later seasons seem decently rated
My daughter, visiting for the holiday, got us started in Frieren. I'm loving it, exactly the kind of positive anime genre that I like.
For anyone interested, Frieren is an elf magic user and the story is mostly from her perspective as someone who is centuries old; She is currently retracing an adventure she took a human lifetime ago where her party slayed the Demon King. They do a great job of putting us into the headspace of someone who is so long-lived. Intellectually she looks at her prior adventure as a blip in her lifetime, but we see that it emotionally effected her more than she acknowledges.
