Modern Family doesn't really belong in that list. It's entertaining and all, but if you were to prioritize that list, I'd put it at the bottom.

          • I want to keep something light available too. Sometimes you only have room for a 20 minute show. That list is not prioritized though. I know you love True detective, any feedback on the rest?

            • I've stayed away from sitcoms so long. I think the last one I watched regularly was Sportsnight (yeah, that long ago) .

I did go through Big Bang Theory and it was amusing. I have no desire for other shows like Two and half men, two broke girls, new girl, etc.

              • Entourage would be a good half hour show to invest in. You might also add Californication in there.

I love Homeland, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, and the Sopranos.

You really can't go wrong in starting anywhere on that list.

                • Except for The Shield. It doesn't belong with most of those on the list.

I think Deadwood would be a good place to start.

Dexter was overrated in my opinion?

I think you should start with Breaking Bad and move on to The Wire and then The Shield.

I agree. I like Modern Family but it definitely belongs at the bottom of that list.

Wow, I never heard anyone say that about The Shield. To each their own I suppose.

I do agree with Deadwood. That was definitely a great show.

                              • I watched the shield for a season, maybe a little more, but lost interest.

I think it got pretty stupid quickly.
