      'True Detective' 6-Minute Tracking Shot Is Incredible

      Even if you haven't seen a single minute of "True Detective," you really should watch these six. In the latest episode of the HBO cop drama starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, a heist goes wrong on Cohle (McConaughey) in a hurry. It takes six minutes from the moment the heist starts to the moment he makes his escape, and the entire scene was filmed in one continuous shot.

      Weaving in and out of homes in a housing complex, incorporating tons of actors and even following Cohle and his hostage as they climbed over a fence, it was an impressive piece of filmwork. And the choice of the single shot made us feel every drop of sweat beading on Cohle's brow as he tried to figure out how he was going to get out of this one.

      It was a beautifully messy scene, and a testament to the show's director, Cary Fukunaga, who coordinated the whole thing. Even completely out of context, the scene is very effective.

      "True Detective" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on HBO.

        Could HBO's latest hit be helping pave the way for a new form of storytelling?

              • SPOILER for people who haven't seen GoT:

                I think my favorite GoT's "intense scenes" was Ned's Arrest haha. But at the time, I had no idea it was going to happen. I cheated and read the entire plot for GoT before season 3 started and the "Red Wedding" wasn't the same because I knew it was coming... I should have never read ahead.

                • I just absolutely love season 1 though. All 3 season have been great... but I don't think they can beat season 1. It has the best story.

                  I love this scene:
                  [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uoHoGvSd_Q"]Game of Thrones - Aemon's revelation HQ - YouTube[/ame]

                  I read that maybe Jon Snow isn't Ned Stark's bastard son. The Mad King had a son with Ned's sister. As Ned's sister died, she gave birth to Jon Snow. Ned created a lie that he had an affair to save Snow's life from Robert. If this is true, that makes everything so much more crazy!

                                Omgosh she did a fantastic job. When she was being processed at the jail, I felt as desolate and violated as she did.
