  • Bosch Season three came out last week (It's and Amazon Prime show). Like the previous 2 seasons it's slow burn, I can't really place my finger on why, but I absolutely love the show and this season was pretty good. A little less intense over the whole season but also really consistent.

    • I'm surprised at how few friends of mine in the D watch Detroiters. I love it so much, I wish I'd named my son Tommy Pencils.

      • I've heard good things, just need to find a spot in the rotation for it.

I'm not from the D but I've been watching and promoting (in this thread) since the pilot. Deb is a big fan as well.

          • Preamble: Bracing for partisan flame:

The Handmaiden's Tale is a very, very good television adaptation.

            Acting, score, cinematography, pacing.

Small details executed so well (Yea, it is dystopian -- the state sponsored militias don't look like robocops -- they look an outfit you might actually see during martial law. There aren't over the top sets -- it just looks like a new world set within the world we already live in)

Feels like it is being directed by Villaneuve or a big fan of his.

haha, CL! Yes, love this show! I've starting promoting it on Facebook as I think many of my local friends are just unaware of it.

I read a review in the local paper on it, sounds really well done and scarily feasible.

My wife and I probably go through a series every 3 months. She is forever rooted in reality. It either has to be total fiction (GoT) or near documentary.

This is the first time we've watched a SCI FI/Dystopia themed show together.

The story is paralleled with flash backs explaining (how we got here). At one point, my wife turned to me, mouth half-open, "Oh my god. If something like this actually happened. It would happen THIS WAY."

Getting harder to get my wife to buy in on dystopian themed shows. She won't watch Man in the High Castle at all.

Oh, She wouldn't watch MitHC beyond the first 10 minutes. So...

Really impresses upon me how Handmaiden's Tale probably resonates with that demographic.

She actually watched a few episodes before she had her fill and she still asks how certain characters are doing.

                            • "Silicon Valley" is pretty good so far. Anything with TJ Miller is great nowadays ... except for Transformers 4.

I'm re-watching GoT ... again.. one ep max per day until S7 comes starts.
This Robert - Cersei scene in ep 1.5 is really overlooked. Perhaps Robert is a more layered character in the TV series than people think. So amazing how well written season 1 is (given its mostly from the book):
