Yeah I agree. When they first started that scene it hit me that at how real it felt. It's crazy this whole season is playing out like it is while the world is going through similar real threats.

Finally got around to finishing How I Met Your Mother. It was really good all the way until the last episode.

Just really disappointing it ended like that.

Agreed Jaadam, I think that most people are crazy when they say that a great series ending ruins the rest of the show. The HIMYM ending really undercuts and destroys the story of the show.

They could have done a happily ever after and that last season would have been damned good.

Oh well, HIMYM has always been about miss direction so I can't feel totally surprised.

I thought it was a good season as well. One of my other friends said the same thing about the offer. To me it was pretty clear and they sent signals throughout the season of what was coming.

My take - highlight below - spoiler for peeps that haven't seen it..

The rich guy has the hots for Carrie. He went overboard to help her throughout the season but he tells the lawyer that he doesn't want to re-contract her because he wants to cut business ties with her so he can court her. Rich folks want what they want and it seems like he does. Unless you think there's another motive there which could also be true. You never know with this show.

Poor Quinn that dude had it rough although I'm not sure Carrie ends it for him.

I did love how they cut ties with Allyson. That was pretty awesome.
