Survivor is pretty good this go round. I'm surprised to find myself liking Coach. Couldn't stand him before.

Wish Ozzy had lasted longer post-merge. :( I liked his odds at Redemption Island when it was one on one, but not as much when there are multiple strong competitors with him. But if anyone can prevail through that, it's probably him.#birdsarentreal

I moved back into my parents house in the past two weeks (not out of necessity, it just made some financial sense and they are planning on moving into a smaller place). They have AT&T U-Verse so I started programming their DVR to record my favorite programs (they don't watch too much American programming and don't use the DVR). Last Sunday morning, the DVR was not turning on. I unplugged it, plugged it back in, and waited for the magic. It now says there are no recorded programs on the DVR. It was more than half full with programming. The weird thing is that even though it says there's no programs to watch, it says there's only 90% free space (I would expect that number to be closer to 100% if not 100%) but it also says that there's only 9 HD hours left to record. That makes me think that the programs are there and salvageable. If not, my TV obsessing days may be over...

Yeah, romster, I will do that for shows like Revenge. But the I think it might be time for me to give the other shows a break. I do watch way too much TV.
I called AT&T on Thursday and it turns out there's something wrong with the main set/DVR. They have to replace it. They told me that the shows I lost are gone forever. They said they could have someone out to the house on Friday. I said Friday wasn't good and then they said they would have someone come out on Saturday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. I waited here and we never got a call. Today, we still haven't gotten a call. I think I'm going to change service.

My 14 year old an I have been watching Grimm. It's a bit cheesy but fun. I hope it lasts a while.
I've also been watching The Walking Dead and Hell on Wheels. Zombies and bad asses in the old west. What could be better?I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

I had WOW! in my house before I went HD and I was always okay with them. Then I got an HDTV and told them I was considering getting satellite service. They surprisingly did very little to retain me as a customer so I ended up getting DirecTV for TV and kept them just for basic Internet service.
If I get my parents to leave AT&T, I might go that route again.
I did call AT&T again on Monday and they said my order never went through to have the DVR replaced. They scheduled an appointment for Tuesday. The guy came out Tuesday and replaced it. But when I got home from work, I tried to record things and I ended up getting messages that DVR Service was not available on that TV. I thought maybe they had given us a plain receiver. I spent an hour on the phone with Technical Support to get the thing working right. They never even offered to compensate us for the lost programs or the week we lost or their mistakes. They said they were going to follow up but they haven't even done that.

Tom, you may want to be more assertive. Instead of waiting for them to offer you something, ask for it. "Thanks for taking care of my problem finally. I'm really disappointed that it took a no-show on your part and then a lengthy session with technical support to get things resolved. Not to mention a week of no DVR service. Is this the level of customer service I can expect in the future? Why shouldn't I consider changing to WOW, based on this experience? What can you do to make this right?"#birdsarentreal

I think you're right but I have such a problem doing that. I hate being that guy. I end up feeling guilty.
Oddly enough, the DVR stopped working again this morning. Revenge and Modern Family which were recorded last night were wiped clean again today and now nothing records. I called AT&T and they said they have to send a technician out because it seems like there's a network problem (a connection somewhere is malfunctioning).
