Anybody here watch The Wire? I've been told by several that it's like the best damn show, EVER.

I'm thinking about getting season 1 on DVD.

Did you just watch a few episodes or did you stick it out and watch the entire series?

Anyone watch the new HBO show by the creator of Six Feet Under called True Blood? I didn't think I'd like it, but I did. It has an interesting premise.

I flipped by it the other day but skipped past it. I'll check it out though next time I see it.

I don't think it's spoiling anything to mention the premise: It's present-day America and vampires have recently "come out of the coffin" in order to live in peace amongst the mortals. They don't hide, they supposedly drink synthetic blood so they don't need to feast on humans, and they're just trying to go about their business. What makes this interesting is, for instance, the reaction they get when a young woman sees her first vampire. It's like someone seeing their first black person or first gay person, etc. The curiosity from some...the hatred and ignorance from others.

Anyways, the first episode was intriguing. We'll see where it goes from here. I thought Six Feet Under was fantastic, so I'm expecting good things from this show's creator.

Deb, thanks to your post I will check it out. I was afraid it was going to be scary vampire stuff. Btw, I liked the premiere of Entourage.

Re: Fringe. I'm loathe to take on more TV shows because I watch too much as it is, however I had the channel on Fringe while I was doing other stuff. Posting here probably. Anyway, the music sounded just like LOST's and I thought "what a ripoff."

It is JJ Abrams afterall. It's pretty derivative, but good I thought.

Rommy, I was thinking it'd be scary, too. And there might be parts like that, but I haven't seen them yet. There was some violence in the first episode but it wasn't too "in your face." There were some funny parts, too.

Agree on Entourage. Seems like it hasn't been gone as long as it has. Bout time we got Ari back on the screen!!
