    VR-5
    V (NBC 1984-85)
Jericho (that little 2nd season was a tease)

      • Lost shouldve called it quits after season 1 and saved us all the time to better prepare for the drafts.

          • Me too. The ending was a bit confusing but after reading some explanations I've been satisfied.

LOST Revised: A Sideways-Less Season Six

By Sara Morrison June 4, 2010 at 11:53 AM EDT

Did the series finale of LOST leave you feeling a bit ... lost? Perhaps wishing you could flash sideways to another reality where the series ending was a bit more satisfying?

One fan hated the way LOST ended so much that he felt "morally compelled" to spend way too much time doing something about it. According to his website, the unnamed fan was on board with the idea of the flash sideways world until the finale, when he realized that it was not a "what if they never crashed" scenario but, according to him, a gimmicky way to give the viewers a happy ending for all of the show's characters (well, except for some ...) that they didn't actually get.

"It was a way to give an emotional sendoff to the series by tugging at our heartstrings, rather than addressing the numerous hanging threads left over by the plot," he writes in the site's "about" section.

I'm not sure why he thought that LOST, which basically hinged on six seasons of numerous hanging threads, would end any differently, but okay. His solution is to go back and re-edit the sixth season of the show, removing the sideways world entirely. He compares his work to the heroic efforts of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Phantom_Edit"]that guy[/ame] who took Jar-Jar Binks out of Stars Wars: The Phantom Menace.

He's done the first two episodes so far and plans to post a new one every week until the season is complete or ABC tracks him down and sues him for copyright infringement. So if you've always wanted to experience the last season of LOST without all the happy schmaltzy heartstrings-tuggery and don't own a DVR that lets you simply "flash forward" through it all on your own, LOST Revised.

I really like Fringe, it has taken my lost time for next year.... I just recently (in the last month) watched both seasons... me likey!!

                • I really wish the Unit had not have been canceled. My friend went to the Hoe Down last month. While she was there I was talking to her and she said Robert Patrick was there. I told her if she met him to tell him to call Jonas and get the ball rolling on getting it back on tv!

                  • I just caught up on Fringe myself and must say the finale was mind blowing. The intimacy between Peter and Olivia has been building all season..back from episode where she rediscovered how to see the aura surrounding objects from the alternate world. It was cool to see how the Fringe team (with Charlie Francis !!) operates in the alternate world and how it was Walter's initial opening of the hole between the two that caused the instability there. I will miss the character of William Bell. Nimoy and Noble have really been strong characters and the two on screen at once was quite a dynamic. Noble carries this series.

Obviously the twist at the end with Olivia's counterpart traveling back with Peter and Walter has yet to be explained, but good setup for season 3....it will be interesting to see if the two Walters ever meet and how that goes down.

                    • Coop, did you think Olivia crying in the alternate world was a little weird? Olivia doesn't seem like they type to break down but then again, maybe everything was piling up on her?

                      • Olivia was not one to show much emotion, although you could see it during episodes with her sister and niece - but I think losing Peter was more than she could handle...

                          • I mean, regardless of how tough you are being locked in a cell that there is no way to escape from, in the dark no less would mind F you! Throw in that your in a universe that your not from and I might squeeze a few tears!

                            • Tom - good question. I guess that did seem out of character. I know at one point she was incarcerated early on in season one and I don't recall that kind of outburst. We don't really know what happened between when the Olivia's were in combat through the point when it was revealed that Olivia from the alternate world passed through with Peter. Maybe that had something to do with it?

I am guessing we learn those details when things resume for season 3.
