  • Speaking of detective shows…I was in Florida recently with limited streaming options and I ended up watching an episode of Murder She Wrote that centered around a new VR headset IN 1993!! It’s wild!

    • On a positive note, got my daughter hooked on Psych, so we've been binging a bit on those. It's so weird to watch season 1 of shows sometimes, when they haven't quite figured out the formula or hit their stride yet. First few episodes were a little jarring. First season of of Parks & Rec is another one that is pretty different.

      • Saw a pretty good detective series, Three Pines. Alfred Molina is the lead as a Montreal Detective who keeps on getting dispatched to Three Pines for investigations. It's a remote village for artists. 8 episodes with each case being a 2 partner. Also there is a season long arc about missing 1st Nation kids.

I liked it, but Amazon cancelled it after 1 season and it ends on a cliffhanger. So that sucked, but it is based on a book series, so I guess I could read those.

          I didn’t know “Three Pines” wasn’t renewed. That’s a shame, I liked it.

Anybody watch “Fool Me Once”? It’s either kinda brilliant or really stupid…I haven’t decided yet

Ohhhhhh.. really? Yeah then that’s pretty shitty. I’m not sure why people jump on negativity like that but that’s garbage

With that said the reviews are still right. It’s bad

The thing with this one is, they decided to give Foster's character ALL of the problems. Her son died, her husband died, she has an indigenous rebel step daughter, she's fucking her boss, she's fucking half the town, she may have killed a guy in cold blood, she drinks too much, she swears too much, she breaks the rules, she's overbearing and is pretty much disliked by everybody, except for the young deputy who looks up to her that she rides mercilessly. It's a little much.
Yeah I get Fosters character. 100%

The problem is that EVERYONE is so unlikeable. You have to have someone people like. It’s one of the things that GoT did so well. They had a bunch of assholes tied together with characters that people really loved. Tyrian, Jon Snow etc.

              • and maybe one of the reasons I liked season 2 so much was because I was so happy to see Vince Vaughn in something other than a comedy. He’s actually a really great actor but he’s just a funny man to Hollywood. He could have been a great heel or serious actor

                Well that and this scene.

                • I watched Fool Me Once and landed on really stupid, Mason. I read the book a couple of years ago and was excited to watch the mini series, but it ended up being annoying.

i went into it knowing nothing about it, but by the end something about a mystery story told with an unreliable narrator was kind of intriguing

                      • Well ok.. The first 4 episodes were complete dog shit. Episode 5 of True Detective was pretty good. I'll definitely watch the finale.

                              • Speaking of True Detective, I finished watching season 4. As much of a complete f**k up I thought the first few episodes were I actually liked the final 2. It ended up being pretty good.
