GoT thoughts:
SPOILERNope, not the only. I actually like the series finale and how most of it ended. Like it, not love.
Totally agree that they condensed the plot too much. The last two seasons should have been 20 episodes instead of 13. Most of the rushing in S8 happened in episodes 8x04 to 8x05. As long as you can accept where episode 8x06 began, the episode was actually well executed. The series finale episode is poorly rated because people are bitching with certain plot decisions, when really everyone SHOULD be blaming HOW they got to that point (episodes 8x04-8x05). Again, poorly executed to get to the series finale, but f*** off if you are nitpicking about "x" character should have been named King/Queen.
In writing, there is a big difference between HOW and WHAT. GoT, the issue was HOW it was executed in S8.
Overall, S8 GoT was disappointing, but it's far from being as bad as what some people make it out to be.
One concerning thing that is telling... there is a scene very reminiscent of "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" when all of the Starks are standing seaside saying their final goodbyes to each other. LOTR, that scene made me cry big time. GoT? Not one shed of tear. Compare the two scenes:
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
There were actually a lot of parallels between S8 of GoT to "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" and "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King." I bet that is what D&D envisioned as they were putting together the S8 script. It just wasn't executed that well.

"Chernobyl" is the best season of TV since "True Detective" Season 1 IMO.
Yes, it is technically a mini series. Season vs Series vs Mini Series, similar meaning.
Either way, definitely check it out.

Re-subscribed to HBO Now recently and have been on a binge. Danny McBride's comedy series "Vice Principals" and "The Righteous Gemstones" are both entertaining.
Also, "Succession" continues to be an excellent ... now into S2.

However, it seemed like A LOT of people hated GoT S8. All I see is negative stuff. To win a "Best Drama Series" award, I was a little surprised/ thought that was interesting.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill
