  • I know, but that is bad writing -- so far under the other six seasons -- and hard to believe of a worse job writing -- even when they are in the deep pool without GRRM

All seeing is one thing, but Night Kind should have a more diabolical maneuver than what amounts to arriving at a train station at the correct time -- even if they know the train arrives without some forward force/scout/recon/etc. Especially when:

The train doesn't have to be there.
The train doesn't actually serve ANY purpose.

That is calamitous -- not some minor writer's absent-mindedness.

    • "The Americans" only 2 episodes left approaching the conclusion. While the last 2 season have been pretty stale, it is still one of my favorites.

How bad of a bloodbath will there be? Who will be standing at the end?

Not that I need it tied up in a nice little bow, but after some disappointing ends in Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Dexter (really really bad) and a few others...I'm keeping an open mind that I'll accept whatever fate is in store, but there are a couple of things for the story that, if they transpire would leave a bad taste in my mouth.

      • I loved the ending for Breaking Bad. Dexter was really bad, but nothing compares to freaking Lost

        • Breaking bad wasn't really a horrible ending, I guess knowing Walt was out of control by the end and the cancer was back made it predictable he wasn't going to live. I have seen a lot of complaints about the 'Lost' ending, but didn't get past the first season.

Now with the Americans we really don't know who is going to live and who dies? And also who is going to do the killing? But its going to happen.

          • I liked breaking bad ending. Fitting, really.

            How else?????

Both duplass brother documentaries on weird American crime canon are interesting and well constructed: wild wild country and evil genius

            • The Breaking Bad comparison occurred to me, I was very much hoping The Americans would avoid the same kind of sudden reveal that happened when Hank found the book and it suddenly clicked that Walt was Heisenberg. The Americans has made Stan's discovery much more of slow burn kind of reveal, a dawning realization more than a sudden light-bulb moment.

              • I thought the last episode of Americans was really good. That scene in the parking garage with Stan was pretty awesome.

                • I agree...I thought it was completely poetic and true to the tone of the show. It had its irony..
And the confrontation with Stan was far more realistic to me than any showdown. I was certain one or more of the main characters would not make it out alive. Whether it was Stan killing one or more of the Jennings or one of them killing Stan I would have bet that that would have been part of the finale.

It didn't wrap up every little detail because (short of death) that's not how life is. Every question isn't answered and there will be ambiguity. Things will not happen as you always think they should or expect them to. I kind of hate the current trend of draining the life out of everything by trying to cross every t and/or serializing everything until it has no breath and leaves nothing behind to think or wonder about.. But I really was hoping for a 'No Way Out' with Stan's girlfriend Renee.

I love the ending scene with Stan sitting in his bedroom trying to wrap his head around everything. I like how they left that open.

                          • Loved the farmer's daughter, Hollywood and vine, Americana, Susie Spirit....... The best thing about GLOW was it was a pre-Baywatch way to see hot women for a young guy like me back in the day....
