Yeah he doesn't seem like he can carry the show but it feels like the people he's studying will be driving the show.

        • First episode of Mindhunter was good. I'll have to keep watching it before I can say much though.

            • Finished Mindhunter yesterday. I kinda wish they hadn't introduced all the extra drama with the new guy and the ethical push back from his techniques. I understand it, but I enjoyed the show more when it was just them going and talking to the serial killers.

It's like when X-Files got away from random cases and focused on the big governmental cover-up of aliens.

Sometimes it's ok just to be a simple show, but maybe that's just me.

It was interesting to watch though. I'll definitely continue it when they make season 2.

              • See I kind of thought the same thing at first until I realized what they were doing. Its not just about starting this whole new way of life for the FBI and all law enforcement agencies and the way they do business. This show is about how out of touch they were with handling such crimes and how devastating it was on the men that blazed those trails.

They knew that they were doing something huge but they got constant pushback from every direction and on top of that this was really fucking with their heads too. At the end of the day they can't just go home from a normal days work and flush this out of their minds. Holden Ford was seeing triggers that set off these killers in his every day life. The pressure to do something great was probably huge for these men.

                • Yeah, I get that, and I agree. I just sometimes want to enjoy these shows an episode at a time without having to worry about the greater plot arc.

                  • If you have Direct TV, check out Loudermilk (Audience channel 239 and on demand)

It has some laugh out loud moments.

My favorite line of the show so far: I have downs syndrome. Of course I like meatballs!

Loudermilk is an American comedy television series created by Peter Farrelly and Bobby Mort. The series stars Ron Livingston, Will Sasso, Laura Mennell, Anja Savcic, Toby Levins and Mark Brandon. The series premiered on October 17, 2017, on Audience.

                      • Not sure how to react to this ... if it’s a reboot of the trilogy, the TV series will be worse no matter what. If it builds on the Middle Earth world, cool! Just don’t be a CGI mess like the Hobbits.

                        • Yeah. I don't know how it'll be good, but I'm sure I'll check it out.

Of course there's a lot of stuff from the books that got left out even from the extended editions, but I think they're going to have a hard time separating themselves from Peter Jackson's films and there's no way they can be better than them.

                          • So many damn series to keep up on.

?Frontier? season 2 is on Netflix. This still remains watchable and a mess. Very serious tone, but they use Ice T and Beyonc? quotes for the opening credits?
Honestly, just worth it for Jason Momoa being badass and Mary.

?Stranger Things? season 2. Overall a worthy sequel. Last two episodes stand apart as incredible episodes. The nostalgic feel of the 80s gets ya... with good characters like Hopper, Eleven, and Steve.

?The Crown? season 2 comes out tomorrow. Intrigued.

                            ?Mr Robot? season 3. Amazing.

?Shameless? season 8. Haven?t started it yet!

Been watching since the pilot episode. I actually look forward to it 1x a week which is rare.

Btw, iirc, DWT has a committed son. Believe it was autism related. Forgive me if I'm wrong dwt because this is no joking matter. I recall him also saying years ago that his afflicted son was the first one to graduate from some Michigan college but that was a long time ago so maybe I'm remembering the exact details wrong but not the subject matter.
