    • trying to do a little house cleaning after a busy day, so I decided to crank up some tunes on my husband's Zune. The first song that came on when I hit shuffle was "PILOT OF THE AIRWAVES" - am I married to a dork or what?!?! I love cheese.

      • My Kid's have discovered Nerf guns, had great fun taking them both on tonight! Wish we had them when I was younger, although my potato (I seem to recall you spell it potatoe??) gun was fun.

            • Do they still make squeezits? An empty rubbery/plastic squeezit bottle makes for a great safe thing to throw at a child.... just saying.

              • My wifes best friends nephew Brett, who was murdered 4 weeks ago....., his body was released by the police eventually, and the burial was yesterday. Decided to post in this thread as it's made my day that the poor family can now try their very very best to move on from their tragic loss. There were officially over 600 people at both the church and the cemetery......, his entire year from school attended and they done a PowerPoint presentation of his life in the church. Was happy, sad, funny all rolled into one. I've never ever seen my wife as upset as she was yesterday. But the wait for his parents was gruelling, that's over now, hopefully they move on.

What else has made my day......., my oldest son is coming up to Edinburgh for the festival....., he lives in London, and it's a bit scary there at the moment. Hopefully it's died down a bit before he goes back.

                • It is a very important stage in grieving process. It is a long road, but with good friends it is passable. Be there for your friend.

Good news on your son too, London looks like it is a mess right now.

                      • Not quite sure how this will all pan out SLF......., could be a while. Today's breed of "moron" are a lot younger than those of yesteryear. The pictures on tv are quite astounding......, kids as young as ten years old drinking, smashing the place up and stealing from broken shop windows. I was still playing with my action man dolls at ten years old !

Violence spreading though...., Manchester and brimingham now joining in!

                        • The poor bastards who watched their furniture store burn down in Croyden after 5 generations and 140 years was painful. Surprised it spread as far as it did to Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool. I was watching BBC live on-line for a couple of hours last night from 11 to 1 am UK time.

                            • It's my first trip out if the country (except Canada). We are spending the majority of our time in Scotland. We are flying into London and taking the train out the next day.

                              • My first trip out of the country was to London. If you have any time I highly recommend the Tower of London, or the British Museum. Scotland sounds like fun. I wanted to visit St. Andrews, but never made it. You will no doubt have a great time.

It sounds like West London is where all the unrest is at the moment. That's where we stayed. Near Hyde Park.
