    • Marko they are photographs, and yes, they are HDR Photos as Gonz says, but I still pick and choose my moments. I started working in photo back in the film days, and I had instructors that told me, "Get it on the negative," which means that you want to have everything there you want. If you want it in the shot, you have to have it there in the first place.

With the advances in digital, I do have a little more leeway, and if I royally screw something up I reshoot, but I still scout locations and shoot it at the time of day that works best for that spot. The reason I went with HDR is that there are some very established natural photographers in the area, so I needed to do something very drastic to keep paces with them. After all, if you are showing something different people will stop and look.

Thanks for the compliments though, an artists always likes to know people like their stuff.

Ya, they came close to knocking off State last weekend too.

            These guys can play ball.
I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

                • I just finished finals week as well. I'm a non-trad student getting my teaching liscence, and I more or less talked a professor into a corner during our final class period so that she had to admit that she wasn't qualified to teach our class.

Some kids in class actually clapped.

                  • That sucks when you get a professor who isn't qualified (not that uncommon) but worse, can't fake it.

Hopefully you get some good professors to outweigh the less than good ones. Good ones are worth their weight in gold and independently reading and researching on your own can compensate for the poor ones.

                    • I didn't mind so much when I was taking my English or writing classes, but when a prof in the education department with a fricking PhD teaching a LITERACY (proper and effective reading strategies essentially) class required for my degree tells me that English (where we teach people to read and write) isn't a true scholarly content area (something that can't really be studied) . . . well let's just say I almost had a kitten.

                        • This happened over the course of the last year and a half but I thought I would post it now because of the significance of it now.

In the Spring of 2009 my then 23 year old daughter decided she wanted to go back to school for her Masters. She graduated from Western Mich when she was 20. She works for a Marketing arm of Google(Omnicom) in Chicago. They offered her a promotion to stay and she accepted. She was given a team and managed their Hewlett Packard account. She did so well she was offered a position with HP. She turned it down. In October this year she was offered another promotion. She thought about and on Thanksgiving while I was in Chicago she told me that she accepted the promotion.
On January 1 (Because she starts on the 3rd) She will be moving to London and become the Executve Director of their European office.

Throught out ones life you always wonder and worry on whether you have raised your children in a manner to which they will succeed. You cannot imagine how proud I am as a father to see my child succeed, and at only 25 years old. When she told me what she had decided I acted pretty nonchalant about it. I didn't trust my emotions at the moment. Because her mother and I divorced when she was 16 I can't really say how much of an influence I had on her life making decisions, but I do know this. Good or bad, your children are an extension of your life. I feel as if I have succeeded as much as she has. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

                              • Yeah thats awesome. Google is reportedly one of the best companies to work for too (I know a few google employees in ann arbor). Sounds like a great situation where your daughter is really talented and they've recognized that.
