Thank you all!
Happy Birthday Bill! I knew there was a reason I liked you!
Today was a great day! A very warm (80+) and sunny day! Spent the day going to storage unit actions, looking for bargains to re-sell. Got a huge case (1000+) baseball cards circa 1979 to 1982. Gonna try to find a gem in there and then I'll be on easy street!
Went and had my free birthday dinner (up to $20 value) and a local BBQ joint.
The baby back ribs (full rack) were OK (I've had better) but the price was right, and got a free dessert with it....something called a "cow pie" vanilla sponge cake, covered with cherries, then a layer of chocolate fudge pudding, topped off with chocolate mousse...wicked awesome!
Drank 4 30 oz. Fat Tire's and I'm still enjoying the buzz!
Going tomorrow to place bingo for free at the Indian Casino.
Oh, wife & son gave me a "new" watch (actually an old watch wrapped up so the son could have something to give me as a present).

I am laying on the couch with my leg elevated and a bottle of percocet by my side.
That makes my day because I had a huge bone spur on my heel removed yesterday. I have a six week maintenance period for my Cutter and finally came up with enough time to have the surgery and rehab without missing underway time.
The doctor had to cut through my Achilles Tendon and split it open to remove the spur, then put four screws in my heel to re-attach the tendon. It will be a pretty slow recovery. I will be in a splint for a week and then a walking cast for about a month. Hopefully I'll be able to run in about 6 months or so...
I know this pales in comparison to Sharkey's surgery, but it makes my day to have had this done and know that eventually I will be back to "normal".I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

Yeah, it was pretty bad, Deb. I had a bump about the size of the end of my thumb on the back of my heel underneath the Achilles Tendon where it attaches to the heel. Apparently it was caused by slight injuries to and healing of the tendon. Basically every time I flexed my foot the spur would rub on the tendon and irritate the hell out of it. I was favoring it which was causing problems with my other leg.
It will be nice to get up and not walk around like Fred Sanford and I look forward to being able to run again.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on
