LOL! Thanks gang, I'm super proud of her. I wasn't so sure how college would play out, considering she lost all interest and motivation in her education about half way through her junior year of high school, so it really could've gone either way. But so far so good! Marko69, the dean's list is mostly meaningless, but it is a "recognition of outstanding academic achievement" at american universities. Madison Keys won her first major at the age of 29, winning the Australian Open early this morning. She had to earn it, beating the two top players in the world back to back in tough 3-set matches.
She grew up the daughter of a tennis coach. She was supposed to be the next big player, but never quite got to the top of the game. She was known as a good person, who conducted herself well. Carved out a long solid career and it seemed like that would be it.
She got married to another pro tennis player and a couple years ago they decided to have him coach her and it has worked out.
It's really a heart-warming story of someone finally getting something they earn and deserve after years of good work.

Was up at 6am this morning to watch this traditional season opener “live” on TV from the MCG……. The mighty Richmond Tigers taking on the massively tipped, Carlton.
At one point, The Tiges were 41 points down……. But managed the 82-69 win with an incredible second half performance!
And here is that final goal, complete with superb celebration.

True story ...., one of my daughters pals is an Aussie Primary School teacher working here in Scotland......, she's a Magpies fan.
