I'm old. Not over 60 old but close. I have ran a few forums like this and modded on a dozen more. It was the social media (we never called it that} I got my feet wet on when I first hooked up our dial up Dell desk top computer sometime around 1999. I still belong to a few and hope they never go away,. Most have died off. Some had many thousands of members and many were lucky to get a hundred. Now even the largest forums with thousands of members only have a few dozen that really participate.
I have never did myspace, Facebook, Twitter, or any of the things that have came since. They just seem unorganized and harder to follow for me. These old forums you can pick a topic and follow the thread right on down. You don't have to click again to see the replies of a post, or get forced to see the highest rated reply not in order. Just a shit show from what I have seen.
