Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season

Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

  • I'm old. Not over 60 old but close. I have ran a few forums like this and modded on a dozen more. It was the social media (we never called it that} I got my feet wet on when I first hooked up our dial up Dell desk top computer sometime around 1999. I still belong to a few and hope they never go away,. Most have died off. Some had many thousands of members and many were lucky to get a hundred. Now even the largest forums with thousands of members only have a few dozen that really participate.

I have never did myspace, Facebook, Twitter, or any of the things that have came since. They just seem unorganized and harder to follow for me. These old forums you can pick a topic and follow the thread right on down. You don't have to click again to see the replies of a post, or get forced to see the highest rated reply not in order. Just a shit show from what I have seen.

    • Having hernia surgery today. That doesn't make my day. The fact that it's here and will be over after a couple months makes my day. Besides I couldn't find any other place to put this. I'm in great hands. The surgeon is a fellow Yooper.

I've had two of them. Last one was about 25 years ago. Not fun, but don't remember a particularly long recovery.

While I was recovering from my first one, I watched a standup comedy show that had a young Drew Carey before the Drew Carey show. I remember regretting watching it because laughing was really painful.

Take care of yourself and I wish you a speedy recovery!

------------------------As soon as I started reading this I said Oh no. I've already had a few instances in my short time. Have to try and avoid that.

              • Loved the Forum article and the Peppermint analogy.

Hope the recovery goes by fast, DanO!

I'm putting it here, because this forum often makes my day :-)

Since our game today doesn't look good in the slightest, I'm glad that I posted this earlier today.

Oh, I have to admit this: I've never heard of Coldplay.

I only posted this because I'm a big Dick Van Dyke fan.

                            🙂
