  • ......and I am saying the Bass players do not need others around. They can play, most will not understand, but when other musicians join in, it makes sense.

They are the heartbeat and the heart does need the lungs and the brain to keep going but without the heart, nothing works.
I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

    • Of course, he isn't playing the mandolin like the kid in the videos that Tony posted, but yesterday was the first time that he ever picked up a mandolin and he is playing it pretty damn well.
One, I am proud of her. Not many actually get any fame from that small town in TN.

Two, he can see there are babes out there playing the instrument. That's always a good thing. I wasn't trying to do anything nefarious by posting it, no matter what you thought.

My son is 16. He has been playing guitar for a few years. He is a natural, the kind of kid that can listen to a song and play along with it right away. He has a math brain and it translates into music. His first guitar teacher, an old hippy in Cape May said, "You got a guitar brain, man". He is really getting good on guitar and picked up my ukulele and was playing much better than I ever thought of withing minutes.

And yes, I am a proud father living vicariously through my son's musical talent. ;)

I agree with Sharky. Got to get a looper now. My son has a station and a pedal type. Also a bunch of wires and gadgets for the laptop that I am sure doubles as some kind of NORAD expirement. In any case, writing his own songs will be way cool to watch once dad forks out the dough (assuming you haven't already went into a second mortgage for the sake of music).

Also, the forum will be happy to know that I received a new capo for Christmas for my acoustic. So, now I can play poorly in ANY key!
Where are we going; and what's up with this hand basket?

          • LOL, trick. Loop stations are fairly inexpensive.

CGVT -- after watching your son play, now I must have a mandolin. I did dig out my loop station and blew the dust off of it and had a good afternoon.
