I got a 15 over in LA a couple weeks ago. Had the cruise set on 70 in a 65, didn't notice that the speed limit changed to 55 and got pulled over by a State Trooper.

He wrote me up for 70 in a 55. $185.

On the same trip I was following a big ass truck in Richland Hills TX. I didn't see a light change and a camera caught me running a red light. $75

No excuses, I was wrong in both instances but it was a pretty expensive trip to see my sister in Texas.

AND...why the hell is this in the "Makes my day" thread? Ha!

They are proud on how many do not see the warning and they get them hooked.

Edit: .......and some of the judges laugh just as hard when they assess the fine.

Some, however, will take into account the distraction set up to turn your eyes away from the initial, and only, warning the speed has changed.

The red light camera tickets don't add points to your license, I guess because they can't prove who was driving the car.

Although I am in favor of them and think that they make intersections safer they are huge money maker for the cities.

My old man has an old muscle car that is treated like a baby. He doesn't take it anywhere where he has to park it. If it isn't being driven, it is in the garage. He is retired now, and isn't as heavy footed as he was in his youth, so to me it seems kind of a shame for a car that has 460 horsepower just to cruise in the slow lane.

Well there is one of those speed cameras in Cedar Rapids, Iowa that I travel through on a rather regular basis. So my brother and I were thinking of borrowing his car, getting a couple of those rubber presidential masks, and go roaring through town about 90 or so. That way the city of Cedar Rapids will send him the three photos; the photo of the car, the photo of the license plate, and the photo of two idiots in president masks driving his baby.

Either he will laugh his ass off when he gets it, or kill us. Either way though we plan on paying his ticket.

Comcast sent me a note that they had upped speeds in my area but my cable modem couldn't take advantage of the upgrade so I had to swap it out. I did that this evening...wow.

Doubtful that I'll notice the difference between the previous 35 Mb/s and this, but it's nice nonetheless.
