Gonz, we are shooting for January 12 - 15. We want to get the trip out of the way while she is still feeling well enough to go, and she started chemo last week, so the clock is ticking. We wanted to do it before year end, but there was no way we could pull it off that quickly, as she wasn't even diagnosed until late October.
It was a very emotional day! We didn't have quite the turnout we were expecting, but we still did quite well, and are now at over 60% of our goal. I saw some relatives & old friends that I hadn't seen in years, so that was great. And my mom seemed to be feeling pretty good, and it definitely lifted her spirits to be surrounded by so much love, so I feel like it was a success.
Here is a list of some of the businesses that donated to our silent auction. Many of these are mom & pop type businesses in Holland, but a couple are franchises. So touched by their support for a complete stranger!
