      • Those Aussies are becoming quite mannerly! (No more Ho Ho Ho's for you around Christmas SLF)

        Politically correct gone horribly wrong!

Is this part of "the war on Christmas?" I ho-ho-hope not.

Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday.

Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead, the Daily Telegraph reported.

One disgruntled Santa told the newspaper a recruitment firm warned him not to use "ho ho ho" because it could frighten children and was too close to "ho", a US slang term for prostitute.

          • Ha ha's! SLF, you can eat ha ha's! "ho ho's" is a derogatory term that belittles the working girls. Quit it! And speaking of food (and I truly hope you were SLF, cause that sentence could be interpreted another way you know)....reminds me of a term for brazil nuts that my parents use to say.

              • I agree it's bullshit.

Has Santa's 'Ho Ho Ho' been changed to 'Ha Ha Ha' because women felt insulted by it?

                  • Don't ask me SLF, I didn't make it up. I just enjoy (apparently) posting made up stories. Not for this reason, but has anyone checked the veracity of Snopes?

                          • CG, I thought of you when that guy and his autistic son were rescued several miles off the coast where they had been swimming recently. Apparently they had both tread water for 15 hours or so until the CG rescued them. The father remarked, "The Coast Guard rocks!"

                            • That was an amazing story, wasn't it. Can you imagine how scared they must have been when they got separated?

I couldn't find much info on it, but I would guess that they had some kind of life preservers. Treading water for 15 hours?
