very cool CG. He is one that I have never had the pleasure of seeing live before, but in all honesty he frightens me a little. I love his acoustic stuff so much that it can bring me to tears. My husband collects concert dvd's, and we have one of his from the early 70's that is just amazing. But his electric stuff does absolutely nothing for me, and you never know what you're going to get live."I ain't the type to bitch, I ain't the type to cry, I will sit at your red light and wait for your shit to go by."

Kay, he didn't do any of the experimental eighties stuff. He came out grabbed an acoustic guitar, sat down and started out with Heart fo Gold and Hey Hey My MY. It sent chills up my spine. Played a couple of songs on the Piano and did After the Gold Rush on a big pipe organ-very cool. Played Cortez the Killer and a couple of other songs on a Gibson and did Ohio on a white hollow body guitar-amazing amazing sound. He finished with Old Man (acoustic) and then a song off of his newest album, LeNoise, called Walk With me (on the white hollow body guitar). I'll post the video when I get home...
I have to admit I teared up more than a couple of times during the show. Ohio was so powerful live and Old Man...Wow!
All I can say is if you ever get a chance, you need to see him...
BTW, I have tickets to see Levon Helm and Ray La Montagne in a few weeks:-DI feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

Alright, you've convinced me.
I bet that will be a good show, too. I don't know much of Ray LaMontagne's stuff, but I dig his voice, and could see the two of them sounding great together."I ain't the type to bitch, I ain't the type to cry, I will sit at your red light and wait for your shit to go by."

I saw Neil Young last night. 6 rows from the stage. It was fucking amazing. I was totally blown away.

I had the pleasure of seeing Crosby, Stills, and Nash as well as The Grateful Dead from the first 10 or so rows. Kind of ruins you for anything else."And I'm a million different people from one day to the next..."

Saw Black Eyed Peas live last week. After about 15 minutes of the bass slamming straight through my body I called it quits and shuffled off to the Don Henley venue. The Henley show was great, with many from the Eagles era. Definitely more my speed. I hate getting old.

Just got a phone call from an Uncle wanting to invite me to an invite only Mercedes Benz test driving event at the old El Toro Marine Base track MB set up this coming Friday.
GONZO is looking forward to rolling in the BENZO.
The prize test drive?
The new (gullwing) MBZ AMG SLS 6.3-litre V8 front-mid engine developing 420 kW/ 571 hp peak output is going to get red lined baby.

since this has veered into a music thread of late, I just found out that Ben Folds new album came out today. I'm going to pick it up on the way home so that I can make my hubby's day."I ain't the type to bitch, I ain't the type to cry, I will sit at your red light and wait for your shit to go by."
