  • Yesterday made my day.

Started at 6am as a unpaid extras in an upcoming BRAD PITT, PHILLIP SEYMOUR-HOFFMAN, JONAS HILLER (sp?) and ROBIN WRIGHT film with our parts being played out as baseball game crowds from the 80's in Dodger Stadium (and later made to look like Yankee stadium). Doubt we'll be seen in the film but my wife and I were picked two different times, in two different parts of the stadium to be people moving up and down the aisles for backround movement ("crossing" in film terminolgy).

We wrapped at about 1pm, had lunch down the hill at our favorite Dim Sum joint in all of the Southland (Empress Pavilion), picked our daughter up from G&G's on the way home and were ready just in time for the kick off of MNF.

KC came through with the finishing touches on a pretty cool day.

              • Anyone can get in on this unpaid extra gig.

Just sign up to be offered the chance at Beinamovie.com and when they need unpaid extras in your area, they will email you with an offer.

We are now thinking about looking into how to become paid extras.

The paid extras from Central Casting in the movie we were in were all mostly dressed in 80's styles. You remember the awful big hair, long hair, punk hair, big glasses, Ray Bans, Madonna sort of look, members only jackets, etc. don't you? Well, they were everywhere yesterday. Flashback time.

Our big baseball game crowd scenes are supposed to be flashbacks scenes taking place in Dodger stadium. They later changed the backstop (set) to look like Yankee Stadium.

Pretty crazy stuff how they make movies in bits and pieces the way they do.

                • I'm wondering what that says about the Gonzo's fashion sense?

                  • They wanted the unpaid extras to wear Dodger gear or blue and white gear with no logos. My wife and I both wore blue jeans and blue shirts (mine was collared hers was a T-shirt covered by a white zip up sweater). Casual and comfortable they requested. The paid extras were decked to the nines in 80's gear. The decade I came of age in and hated fashion wise. Blue jeans, board shorts and concert T's were my only wardrobe for most of my life.

Whats up my brutha? How are you and your clan doing these days?

                            It is currently titled "Moneyball".

Several years ago my wife and I were unpaid extras in a flick called EVEN MONEY that was eventually released as Jump Shot (straight to DVD because it sucked). We never saw ourselves in any of the crowd shots when we scanned the movie. When we tried to watch the movie, it was so bad, we turned it off about half way through, never to be watched again.

It starred Danny DeVito ? Kim Basinger ? Forest Whitaker ? Nick Cannon ? Carla Gugino also RAY LIOTTA, KELSEY GRAMMER and TIM ROTH appeared in the movie.

Only WHITAKER and CANNON were on set the day we were there.

While we chose to partake in Jump Shot, we could have been in another movie filming around the same time called AKEELAH AND THE BEE. Wrong choice by us for sure.

Its just fun stuff to do. Gets me and the Mrs. some adult alone time in an exciting environment. They feed you all day on set and give away some pretty cool raffle prizes all day long to keep you around the set (instead of leaving when you get bored because it is easy to do when waiting around for a new scene shot). I just missed a $100 bill raffle by one number the other day.
