here are some photos on my recent trips to the U.P.

1) Me playing at Van Riper State Park.

2) My friend Kurt, who just had to play my guitar. He's was really good , too.

3) my newly formed fan club. They just had to sit up front, and kept such a good beat with clapping, sticks and rocks to the Johnny Cash song I was singing (Stripes), that I just had to break out some noisemakers. They played for the rest of the show.

4) I was teaching them the lines to a song I was going to sing. They were awesome and absolutely made my day.

5) Me playing downtown Ishpeming on the second of July, 90 degrees.The Indian statue behind me is "Old Ish", a familiar sight to anyone who has ever been there. He is the Indian Chief that Ishpeming was named after.

Yeah, he has had a recent paint job, I don't remember his skin being so "fleshy" in the old days. Seems it was a little more reddish colored. Somewhere I have an old pic, I'll have to look.

He can be seen in Anatomy of a Murder in the opening scenes when Jimmy Stewart drives through town.

He is actually moved a few feet from his original position

2nd best news in the past 4 years - my wife finally got a full time job teaching again at almost the same salary she was making out east. The gamble of coming back here from the beast coast will finally start paying dividends.
