Okay big guy, take it from a senior senior member. For guys and gals, when it becomes fifty and counting......COUNT SLOWLY!!!
By all accounts a rough year, but a good one too...you're still here and that give all of us inspiration.

Over the weekend I exhibited at my second art show. This one was a two day show, and we were nearly blown away by a tornado on Saturday night. On Sunday morning I found my tent still standing, but it was a good thing I removed all of my photos the night before. Sunday turned into a great day and after all was said and done I sold about 10 pieces, picked up a commission, and maybe, just maybe might have sold 4 others that might be hanging in a new resturant in town and at the courthouse.
This is my first summer of art shows and I have been having a blast so far.
FYI that is me with the punky little pony tail and the hat.Attached FilesLast edited by Islair; June 8, 2010, 06:07 PM.AAL:to be determined

Congrats ISLAIR on your growing hobby/passion/future(?). Keep up the dream.
I don't recall if you ever shared what equipment you use.
Would you mind advising me what your primary body and len(ses) you use? As well as lighting options?
Thanks19.1119, NO LONGER WAITING

Thanks
I shoot a Canon 20D Digital SLR, it is about 3 generations old now, but at 8.3 MegaPixels I can still enlarge to 20x30 without losing any quality. I am one of those cross generation photographers too, where I use to shoot all my images on 35mm or on medium format FILM, YES!! FILM!!, so I had quite a bit of Canon equipment.
So when I made the jump to digital I went with Canon again because all of my equipment worked on the DSLR's. My lenses are pretty standard a 18-55 came in the kit with the camera, otherwise I have a 28-80 lens from my film camera, and I also have a 70-200 2.8 lens from my film days. Next on my hit list is a 10-22 wide angle, what I have seen of it looks awesome, I cant wait.
With lighting you have to remember that I am really lazy, and refuse to carry lights around anymore, so all my shots are naturally lit, I dont even use a pop up flash. That is the best thing about HDR, the main reason behind HDR is to get an overall even exposure, shadow detail and highlight detail, so it is awesome for me, because I dont need to light my subject, just wait for the right time of day.AAL:to be determined
