  • Ah, almost crossed paths.

Our summer vacation was a choice between a week long Pismo Beach camping trip with some cousins around June 25th or some other run on our own. We decided to head to S. Lake Tahoe for a week in mid June.

Have fun, be safe and drink 24 (a case) for me.

    • We almost went to Sac then SLT ourselves. I told Leti to choose where we should go and she picked Pismo.

You & yours have a fun & safe weekend also.

I'll definately drink several for the whole crew here @ DLF

      • God Bless all of you who have served, are serving and those whose lives were so tragically cut short. BTW if any of you haven't seen the Movie, "Taking Chance" I highly recommend it. It is a true story of Dedication and honor. I was truly moved.

        • I realize that this post might be construed as political, so feel free to move it if you think necessary. It just cracked me up so this seemed like the logical place...

Anyway, yesterday was my son's last day of 3rd grade. In addition to making the honor roll & receiving a citizenship award (woot), he got an A+ on a presentation about nuclear weapons that he had to make in front of the class. I don't know what else he talked about during his presentation or why on earth it earned him an A+, but the paper that he brought home consisted of a variety of pictures of mushroom clouds and the following text:

"Don't use nuclear weapons if you don't want to be part of this blown-up place. Nuclear weapons are causing more devistation (sic). Get rid of nuclear weapons! We can't stand anymore loud explosions! Obama...! You still haven't banned nuclear weapons! I can't take it anymore! I'm going to move to a place where I will not have to here (sic) explosions and will not be destroyed by nuclear weapons. There goes $1,000,000 down the drain! For the love of God would you please stop using nuclear weapons! I MEAN IT!!!!!!"

"I ain't the type to bitch, I ain't the type to cry, I will sit at your red light and wait for your shit to go by."

          • That's awesome.

You should email that to the WH.

Who knows........maybe your kid gets a WH invite.

Btw, when did your kid start school and how did his school year end so early? My kids 1st grade school year doesn't end until June 15th.

You definately will enjoy it DanO. There will be a tent set up where they will look up names for you . They can also look up who's on the wall by state or home city.

Bring a handkerchief, when they play taps, it breaks down even the strongest.

I will be coming out to look up a name of a schoolmate, something that I have not been able to do the three times I have visited this Memorial in DC.
I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

------------------------A classmates older brother was killed while we were in highschool. I'll never forget it. Prior to that it wasn't "real". That brought the gravity of the situation in full focus. Scared the shit out of me.
