Hmmmmmmm.
The national news this morning reports that Americans drove 7 Billion fewer miles in May of this year and 40 Billion fewer miles in the last 7 months. They are trying to attach awareness of the environment and the cost of gas as the reasoning but I am more inclined to think it is purely the cost of gas.
This is somewhat curious as supposedly AAA reported that travel for Memorial Day was down only slightly (about 1%). I guess there are a lot fewer trips to the grocery store and the mall going on however, the national news did say that their figures included people that put off traveling for vacations and the like.
So I am wondering if AAA is out of the loop and attempting to paint a picture that is favorable to the tourist industry rather than reporting on a trend that others may heed.I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

So the market is beautiful when it responds to crisis induced by government, but it needs government control because it is socially darwinistic. mmmmkaaayyy.
Reducing travel and parking family vehicles is a reduction in the standard of living. A natural reaction by the market, but not exactly one to cheer. The only thing missing from that Marvin Jones touchdown reversal is that it wasn't a first round playoff game.

I have filled my truck's gas tank maybe twice this year. I drive the wife's car (27mpg) or take my son's car (21Mpg) the only use my truck gets if both those are gone and I can't wait for 1 to get back home.
It has nothing to do with environment!I'm not to blame.

We fill up when we want and drive however far we need to. Matter o fact, we're headed out on a probable 700+ mile roundtrip camping trip where I will haul a trailer and get about 10/mpg along the way and not even look back at the expense of it.
Those energy/gas stocks and funds we are invested in make the energy price uptick essentially a non-issue for us.
(This is not addressed to you specifically KC)

Let me see here. IIRC, when a new tax is levied for the purpose of specific projects, the tax increase is immediate but the projects are not started for 3-5 years down the road to allow for engineering and fully funding the project. This leads to the question, how many times has the road fund been "borrowed" from with no intention of paying it back like they continue to do with Social Security?
While the high price of gasoline is really making an impact on my everyday allowances, I am really hoping this unprecedented gouging of the public (or to be politically correct, transfer of wealth) will bring about major change that will allow a consumer to choose what works best for them. As opposed to the way the Auto Companies have been doing business for years, forcing on the consumer what they think they want.I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

"They are trying to attach awareness of the environment and the cost of gas as the reasoning but I am more inclined to think it is purely the cost of gas."
------------------------Inclined??? Awareness of the environement hasn't a thing to do with it.
This gas bullshit is really proving what a bunch of fucking bastards are in office. They don't give one shit about the American people. They care about themselves and the corporate funds they receive from fucking over Joe(y) American.
I can't believe the continued increase in cost for groceries. Some of us are better prepared than others to "absorb" this bullshit, although it's still apprehensible, but think about those struggling to get by prior to this. This is fucking them over big time. The whole time the "supposed" concerned goverment sits idle thinking of ways to buffalo the general public to preserve their own best interests while continuing to screw the public. What's exceptionally upsetting is their complete willingness to fuck over this whole country, possibly to the point of ruin, for their own self satisfaction.
This whole fucking gas thing is a bunch of bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This country erodes each and every year for numerous reasons which I won't get into here but the government is taking full advantage of it's citizens it suppose to represent. It doesn't represent the citizens. It represents big corporations and themselves. How in the FUCK did we let this come to this!!!!!!!! Please don't give me the republicans or democrats bullshit. You know what. They both fucking suck. They suck differently but they both fucking suck equally. They're all out to serve thier own cause and not the intersts of the general populace.
GO LIONS "08" !!!!!!!!GO LIONS "25" !!
