What a day. Turns out today is James Worthy's b-day. When he arrived at 1:30, we all sang him happy birthday. He was smiling ear to ear. I filmed it on my camera.
Thought it was going to be an indoor boring rainy day but this all came together in short order from an email advising that Worthy was going to be signing at the store today from 1-3.
Finally, running into and talking to TG was just a bonus. I've been to other events where he was in the crowd as an official guest but today he was just shopping like a regular Joe. He was with his kids and their friends and was totally cool with putting his bags down and signing the personalized auto to my wife.
Drove down to 20 in Iowa, cut across and took 74(?) or whatever it is through Champaign/Peoria
You drove right past my place in Peoria, if you want to grab dinner when you are driving back let me know.

I'm not a big autograph seeker (as witnessed by me having GONZO sign a note to my wife) but with his signing being so close and free, it was a no brainer for me to meet a LAL sports legend (and HOF'r) we all looked up to while playing b-ball here in So Cal.
It's Big Game James man. I had to give it serious thought.
Dude was way cool too so it made it all the more enjoyable to shake the mans hand and thank him for the glorious 80's he gave us LAL fans.
Btw, when are you going to email me so I can send you those pics?
pands
Come to think of it, in the past 2 weeks, I have met 3 pretty well known entertainers (Bill Burr-Comedian, Tony Gonzalez-NFL, HOF bound and James "Big Game" Worthy-NBA, HOF'r) and got their autographs.

You never struck me as someone who chases stars or gets starstruck, but nonetheless its cool to interact with 'real' idols. In fact, im sure you'd bend over for anyone of those Golden Era Lakers, if you saw them on the street! J/k.
If i recall correctly, didnt we meet Tony G's trainer at that bar your bro in law works at?
I promise to email soon bro. Been real busy

Good memory man.
Yes we did meet his trainer at my BIL's bar that night.
I bet you have been busy these days.
Feel free to contact me with your personal email via a PM here.
Tell the Mrs. I said hello and continued good luck/health to your family.
Thank you for the well wishes. Nik asks about you on occasion and whether we keep in touch, so she'll be happy to hear from you. Our regards to your family too.
Look forward to those pics.

Dano, it was great hearing from you the other day. Really made my day! A total surprise and I can't wait to get back to Detroit and drink some beers with you. I'm definitely coming to a game this year, so warn your liver accordingly.
It's so flat you can watch your dog run away for three days.
