a friend of mine in CA was there several years ago for a film shoot - they arrived just before Mardi Gras - partied it up and then started work the day after it ended.
Never been to Mardi Gras. We were suppose to go several years ago but never made it. Still on my bucket list.
GO LIONS "09" !!!!!!!!!
I will be living in Spanish Fort AL, but won't move ther until after this year's Mardi Gras. If you go next year or there after, you have a place to stay that is about 2 hrs outside of NO. I at least expect a visit on your way through...
I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on
The New Orleans Jazz Festival is fantastic. Never been to Mardi Gras. If you are going there, get as close as possible to the French Quarters. Don't try to save $.

As of right now, I plan on going to Mardi Gras 2011. I will definately budget time to make a visit.
I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.
Mark, can you PM me the name of your business again? I don't send flowers too often but will be sure to send you my business now that I'm local again.
Also, I went with Westland Floor Covering for the floor work in my kitchen and was thrilled with them. I went in on a Saturday and by Thursday they were removing the old flooring and installing the new stuff. Nice, family-owned shop that's been around for 50 years. So glad I gave them my business!

I stopped by Mark's shop today while in the neighborhood and he made me a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the spot! Thank you so much, Mark! Was good to see you.
He's that kind of guy.. can't help but love him.... today I got up after three hours of sleep (midnight shift) made a large roaster full of chicken and dumplings and took them over to a group of vets (all over 80 years old) and spent a couple hours chatting with them.. great stories and a great time together.
If you keep shootin, you can turn any piece of meat into burger

No thanks necessary. I am so appreciative of your effort to keep this a wonderful place for Lions fans to vent........well, I am happy to be able to provide you with my area of expertise.
Even nicer to know I have another die hard Lions fan as a neighbor.

You make dumplings?
We will have to compare recipes. Mama is a southern girl and all of my kids love her chicken and dumplings. I have learned that there is a trick to making them tender.

That whole "being nice to each other" thing is downright disturbing. Our Malto Marko would never go out of his way like that for a stranger.
Sorry - I should have said, "never would have gone out of his way." When he turned 50, a few of his kids tricked him into getting on a plane and tossed him out. I'm glad the store stayed in the family. Les Fleurs du mal (Flowers of Evil) is still the best shop for carnivorous plants and erotic poetry in Evil Parallel Metro Detroit.
