  • thank you all - for those who do not know my son has Autism Spectrum Disorder...entered special preschool barely able to imitate sounds just over two years ago. His progression and development since he started preschool is an absolute blessing and as we enter the holiday season, gives us very much to be thankful for.

          • PSA: Playing some Thanksgiving Day football? Beware of deer

            By MJD
A couple of boys in the Pittsburgh area were involved in a friendly game of backyard football when the pigskin got away from them. It rolled down near a wooded area, and when one lad went to retrieve it, some grumpy, child-hating deer attacked him in a Joey Porter(notes)-like fit of rage.
Here's the news report from KDKA in Pittsburgh.
The kid only suffered a little bruising, and, as the video notes, he's fine now. In fact, I'd argue that he's even better than he was before, because now he knows he's got a friend that has his back.
Seriously, a nine-year-old boy picks up a stick and starts clubbing a crazed deer? That kid is awesome. He can be on my team any day. Bring the stick, young man. We've got a defensive line to get through.

            • Fourty years ago my father passed away suddenly, my uncle traveled to massachussetts from the stee to be at the funeral...unbeknowing to my grieving mother he took a number of articles from our home, came back to the stee and sold them. Today an 83 year old gentleman came to my house and returned to me one of those articles after learning how my uncle came into possession... I told this gentleman that I would give him a thousand dollars to compensate him for his honesty and generosity, because I really cannot put a dollar figure on this article... and all he said to me was "Merry Christmas"... I cried right there.....I still cannot believe it.

How did the guy find out the stuff was lifted, and how did he find you? Is your uncle still kickn'? Did you know your uncle lifted it at the time? If not, when did you find out or begin suspecting? Glad you got at least one of the things back.

I'm thinkin wtf? then pieces start coming together=================I met this older gentleman about seven years ago one time and we talked about my father, and this gentleman knew my father when they were young, then we started on my uncle and I didn't have many nice things to say about him then... well I think the gentleman put things together himself and deceided to do the right thing...I have so much respect for this man right now.... he declined the money but said lets spend some time together this summer.
