  • It reminds me of the shit from a few years back when we played the Flames. I think Iginla started it off with a butt end of his stick to someone’s rib cage and ended with Franzen getting a two hander across the chest from the backup goalie.

Just plain sick. We need a goon so come regular season we can get payback. If I were the Wings I’d seriously draft someone specifically for fighting and bring them up against certain teams that need an ass kicking.

    I miss Probie.

    • The league has made a statement by that fine that they aren't serious about head injuries. They are like The Sherriff but without the glitz.

Even more outrageous was the act was clearly illegal and not within the confines of the game.

        That is just wrong.

How can they justify fining someone 20K for making a comment and only 2.5K for bashing someones face into the glass?
To put this in perspective, with his 7.5 mil salary, it's like fining a man making 60,000 a year, twenty bucks. Same exact ratio.

            • Same kind of shit as when Malkin's automatic game suspension was overturned during the Cup Final.

              • Then he shouldve been suspended.. That shit was uncalled for.

Yeah, actually because of the CBA with the players that is the max amount a player can be fined without being suspended at least 1 game.

Which just means they should have definitely suspended him.

Whatever, I hope Bertuzzi shows up with 2500 cash tonight and just beats the bloody piss out of Weber all game.

                  • The league is claiming a suspension was not in order because there was no injury.

If I am a player that gets injured by an act similar to that, I am suing the NHL for major bucks.

Suspension should not be the result of injury but rather, the result of the act.

It was lucky there was no injury, that does not excuse the act.
I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

Hah! well I had something a little different in mind that getting a draw at best in a fight with him, but the win is what I was really looking for.

The best way to counteract goonery is to act like it didn't even effect you and act even more poised when you win, that is what really gets in the other teams head.

                            Great game tonight boys!

Yeah me too but Nashville will never allow it. They'll do just about anything to keep him. I think he'll be restricted right?
