Unfortunately, the Wings don't usually do well when they cruise through the 1st round. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the last four times the Wings won the Cup, they went six games in the first round each time.

I'll take any 1st round series win, no matter how many games. It always seems to be the hardest for the Wings to win. As the playoffs go on, talent starts to win out but those 1st round series tend to be dogfights.

I wouldn't say they cruised. Game four was tied after two periods, wasn't it? They rang up that big lead in Game two and had to hang on, and Phoenix scored first in Game one. It was a competitive sweep, I guess.

I'd tend to agree with you but we're never dealing with injuries to 2 of 3 top forwards either. Getting Z healthy and Franzen some time was beyond huge. I always worry when we roll quickly but not this year.
