Can't complain with what Babcock has done with the Wings. 1 Cup, a game away from a second (coaching an injury ravaged team at that)... he's continued the tradition established by Bowman admirably.

It looks like Maltby is announcing his retirement this afternoon. In my opinion it's a little late but I do appreciate his years of service to this team and from what I've heard, he sounds like a pretty good guy. He'll go down as one of the great role players in Detroit sports history. He and Draper on the penalty kill used to be a thing of beauty. Sometimes it was one of the more exciting features of games. He doesn't really warrant getting his jersey retired but once Drapers hangs them up, I hope they come up with some kind of tribute to the Grind Line, either a statue, mural, or plaque of some kind.
